I'm looking forward to this and I advise everyone to go in blind and not watch the trailer. Netflix sucks at trailers.

Hmmmmm.......a lot of what is in the book reads as mundane in its encroaching repercussions is here presented as oddly quirky humor. I'm not as big on Buckley as some are but Plemons is just so perfectly cast - and in another time this would have been PSH in that role and he would have really been something to see.......this book in some ways is not filmable but with a big upside........ IF you are shrewd with the adaptation/timelines/when things are introduced......... and I'm not sure I see that shrewdness here .......but.......it's only a trailer.

I'm going to make sure I'm high as hell when I watch this...holy crap. I'll never understand this. Why wouldn't you just want to watch the movie as it was originally intended?

Hm, looks quite loyal to the book which is somewhat encouraging — though if so the ending will be quite controversial.
Also not a fan of the tone that the Thewlis/Collette stuff is striking here — and the dog-shaking thing is just wtf annoying not unsettling at all, I’m hoping it’s just bad A24-esque trailer editing — excited nonetheless.

Well, this looks wonderful! I didn't think Anomalisa quite delivered on its promise but this looks very Kaufman which I love. Haven't read the book so I don't know what tone that followed but I found the trailer to be pretty funny (especially the dog, Archer!) so if that absurd humorous vibe is maintained at least in some parts of the film, then I'm totally in.

This doesn't look bad by any means, but I'm kinda tired of Kaufman doing existential horror.

Don't think it was ever going to get universal acclaim - too idiosyncratic - but those are some very strong, encouraging reactions. Read that it differs from the novel in some aspects, not surprising given its Kaufman, which is also promising. Can't wait!

Glebeirman review is hilarious and exposes Kaufman for the fraud hack he is. I'm thinking of skipping this
