There's a switch I really want to make, but it would mean dropping Carell and those extra sweep points whenever Vice picks up an ensemble nod...

Welp, so much for holding onto those Beale Street ensemble hopes.

Well, fifth place wouldn’t be a bad finish.

Alright guys, I'm leaving this open to everyone on whether or not we should count these four awards: Online Association of Female Film Critics Nominees. African-American Film Critics Association Women Film Critics Circle Black Reel Awards So just say yes or no next to each one and it'll be decided in a few days. I won't have enough time to update everything until the weekend so we have time to decide. Don't see why not! Correct me if I'm wrong, but so far you've counted pretty much everything that's been announed, right? If so, then let's go all the way! Unless you have a problem with women or black people for some reason

I also say we count all of them ... and it's not even like they're recognizing niche things, they're giving awards to major contenders. Absolutely no reason to not count them.

I'm gonna have to check the points everyone would get from these and get back to you. I'm not allowing anyone an edge but me.

At a glance, I'm a little worried about something like the Black Reel awards as they only award a certain type of film. But based on that logic, the Annies would be out too. So arguments can be made either way on that.
Edit: same deal with the others. My worry is that it gives an unfair advantage to any movie that isn't about white guys in the future. I'd have to start taking into account only race-based accounts of women's struggles when I draft. Films like The Revenant or Birdman or Spotlight would get shafted and may get points elsewhere, but in the past it was only animated films that got this boost. And since animated movies historically don't make a dent in most categories, it's more of a way to even out the score and make them compete with other films.
Just playing devil's advocate here, I don't feel too strongly either way. Wanted to put in a dissenting opinion so we could discuss it.

So arguments can be made either way on that. The Gothams and ISAs only award indie films, so blockbusters would be out as well. Why not be all-inclusive?

@raygittes07 uses his final add/drop to dump The Ballad of Buster Scruggs and pick up Bohemian Rhapsody. Apologies for the slowness on getting up to date..... we'll get there soon enough. Hahaha, I was wondering who was gonna realize that was up for grabs.
