God forbid David E Kelley casts his wife in something! I’d be more hyped if this starred Pfeiffer...

I'm still flabbergasted he didn't cast her as Adora in Sharp Objects, which went to Patricia Clarkson. That show turned out to be total feces and massive wasted potential so all for the best I guess.

David E Kelley is not a primary producer on any of his recent projects. He may get so some Exec Producer credits, but that doesn't mean he has power to decide casting.
The Undoing is from Kidman's production company. She probably commissioned Kelley based on their relationship from BLL to write the show for her, not have casting approval for his wife in a role always meant for Kidman.
Same for Big Little Lies. That was a joint production from Kidman and Reese Witherspoon's production companies.
Kelley is mainly a writer for hire these days, and his producer credits are ceremonial. He can't push his wife on roles if the main producers already have people in mind.

But otherwise idk I'd imagine if they wanted to work together at this point it would happen, so maybe they don't...

Very interesting role for him to take. Last year I would've thought eh, but after seeing Florence Foster Jenkins and A Very English Scandal, I've rewound my thinking on Grant....

Hugh Grant is actually a pretty gifted actor . He's not just "that Brit who only does RomComs" . I particularly loved his performances in MAURICE (1987) and ABOUT A BOY (2002).

Looks like it's trying a little too hard to emulate the BLL/Sharp Objects formula, but it's Kidman, it's HBO, I'll watch it.

Oh honey, she must have a loyalty card to Wayne's Wig World. Can't she just play a character with her own hair? I'll pass on this.
God! I miss the greatness of Frances McDormand!

Look, I often make fun of Nicole Kidman but my question is how can people NOT the last few years?
She'll be competing with Blanchett for the Emmy I'm sure (and she has one of course) but every role for her now is either a stunt casting thing (Bombshell) or watch Nicole Kidman just play the emotion, see how she suffers - that's a cardinal sin for an actor and she does it constantly - worse she wants to do it.
Destroyer was a fncking mess and I guess I have to go back and watch BLL 2 because whatever was so great there is lost on me tbh - I'd like to see something less........um.........strenuous from her all the time.

Looks fantastic! Nicole wants an Emmy Aye. Kidman looks pretty incredible in this, but her consistent excellence is almost a given at this point. Best Actress Of her Generation by a mile in my estimation. Based on release dates, she may well be going toe to toe with Cate Blanchett for that limited series Emmy. I thought Blanchett looked pretty good in her trailer for Mrs America, but Kidman is bringing that much more nuanced style that contrasts with Blanchett's usual theatricality. Should be an interesting contest (though someone might swoop in and take it from both of them).
