and can we also talk about whether True Grit's score can be considered original given that almost all of it is based on hymns? And not just motifs, the tracks for True Grit play like Burwell's adaptations of "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and others. It's great music, but the Academy was correct to deem it ineligible.
