Gorgeous and very good actress. She picked very interesting roles along her career. She's an Oscar winner, but I wish I get to see her nominated again.

Nothing. She deserved to be nominated just last year for Only the Brave.

She's just not that consistently great an actress. Aside from Requiem, she kind of got lost in a sea of the intelligent, beautiful actress types.

Nah, she had a great run in 2000-2006, starring in some of the best films of those years and giving excellent, Oscar-worthy performances. She just needs a new agent. I hope she hasn't lost interest in acting...

It's just a shame that she won her Oscar for one of her most undistinguished roles - she (along with the majestic score) is the only standout parts of ABM, but even she can only do so much with the limitations of the role.

I think spending quality time with her family is the most important thing in her life.

I know, we the audience are just very selfish and want them to work every year without a break just to please us!!

She doesn't need to work ( her husband Paul Bettany earns a decent living playing Vision in the Avengers movies), and has never seemed hugely ambitious, despite being an Oscar winning actress. I believe that she just wanted to spend more time raising her family. But she's playing Tom Cruise's love interest in Top Gun 2, which is a major gig, especially for an actress in her late 40's ( and it's been in the press this past week with pictures of her and Cruise on a motorbike). Here are the pics: www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-6347005/Tom-Cruise-56-recreates-iconic-Gun-motorbike-scene-Jennifer-Connelly-47.htmlSo I don't think anything has happened to her. She's one of those actresses that works when she feels like it, and has built up enough industry standing and goodwill to still book big roles when she decides to go for them.

That makes sense. She has a lovely family, and she and Bettany make such a fantastic couple. Hope to see her soon in a great dramatic role.

She must work with great directors in challenging playing-against-type roles and do different genres like Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman (comedy, black comedy, light comedy, christmas comedy, Adam sandler's comedy, action, lesbo action, spy thriller). Theron and Kidman are prime examples of Bygone Actresses who are mother but still on the top of the game. Well, Theron adopted, Kidman has adopted children, another one through surrogate mother, only one by personal pregnancy. Connelly gave birth to 3. If you breastfeed children, it means more time far from the stage. And most of all, it depends on which kind of mother and spouse you want to be.

Yeah, I'd agree with this. Connelly's always been something of an odd duck; she doesn't seem interested in taking the easy money, instead carving out her own path in indie films or working with auteurs. Some of her projects haven't worked (I still shudder when I think of Virginia), but for an actress who hasn't done a whole lot of rom-coms or blockbusters, she still has an air of bankability around her. She's also doing the Snowpiercer TV series, so it'll be interesting to see how she handles a regular TV role two decades after her last outing.
