We all know Amy Adams gives the best performance, but which is the better show?

Big Little Lies.Sharp Objects moved at a glacial pace and honestly,I thought Eliza Scanlen rather than Amy Adams, was the MVP.

I liked Sharp Objects and Adams was great, but it's definitely Big Little Lies. That was an insanely watchable, pretty damn intelligent show, and Nicole Kidman's performance has stayed in my mind to this day. Hoping season 2 isn't a fuck-up!

I hated Big Little Lies. They were all so insufferable. Sharp Objects was at least interesting with a knock out ending.

Same old soap opera level drama with a ridiculous twist.

Same old soap opera level drama with a ridiculous twist. It was pretty intelligent in its satire, albeit in a fun and enjoyable way. However, it was incredibly intelligent in its depiction of domestic abuse, pulling no punches and treating the subject matter with raw and honest sophistication. The way it showed how trapped Celeste felt, and how she kept getting roped back into the relationship every time Perry appeared to have 'changed', was heartbreaking - not to mention the pitch-perfect therapy scenes. Some of the twists were pretty pulpy and convenient, but when it came to the serious stuff, the show excelled.

Showing domestic abuse doesn't make it intelligent and the satirical police testimony parts just took me out of the story.

Sharp Objects is much, much better. Valee, his directing improved so much between the shows.
