Date is Friday at around 7:30PM Eastern Time. I'd do it earlier in the day but I'm busy pretty much all day everyday balancing classes and 2 jobs. If I hear word before then that I'll have some free time during the day, I'll push the presentation back during that time since I'm sure we'd all rather have this presentation during the day instead of late on a Friday night.
Anyway, let's get rolling with these predictions for the Top 5/10.

Later at night is better for me.
I think The Beatles will be no. 1 since they're the one act that will probably be on virtually everyone's list like a lot of people on the actor/director lists. Not really sure other than that since I don't really know what our musical tastes are here, specifically whether we are a more rock or hip-hop community.

Yep, Beatles will be no. 1, and I've got no beef with that. I think Bob Dylan, the Stones, Bowie, and Queen might be in the top 10. No idea who else tbh.

If it's a standard classic rock list, Beatles, Stones, Dylan, and Bowie will all be right at the top. They're the archetypal "Mount Rushmore" amongst rock critics. Not sure that's what our demographic is, though.

So this is gonna be a Top 50. For #50-26 I'll be presenting them in posts of 5. Once we hit the Top 25 I'll go one by one.

A total of 232 artists received at least 1 mention.
The highest amount of appearances was 10/17 ballots. That ended up being our #1.
We had 4 or 5 different leaders throughout, can't remember exactly but they all ended up in the Top 5.
The minimum amount of points needed to make the list was 26 so if the #1 artist on your ballot didn't make the list, that means you were the only one who voted for them.

Ties were broken by the following format:
1. # of ballot appearances 2. Highest ballot ranking 3. Average ballot ranking
There was only 1 tie after this and I just kept it as a tie since I couldn't really think of any further ways to break the tie.

Alice in Chains was always my favorite of that early 90s grunge group. Cantrell's guitar playing combined with Staley's vocals put them ahead of Nirvana and Pearl Jam for me.

I had them ahead of Pearl Jam but I've always preferred Soundgarden and my personal favs Nirvana. Really love Alice in Chains though, I'm the one who put in that #10 spot.

Pretty great list so far. Gonna assume it was the pacman along with me that got Johnny that placement. Awesome.

I'm not as big on the Chili Peppers' most recent stuff, but I love pretty much everything they've done up until Stadium Arcadium. Eclectic in style, goofy at times, funky and fun, but gentle and lyrical at others. There's really no other band like them.

The Velvets and Thunders were easy picks for me - the Velvets introduced something in music - no one wrote those types of lyrics before they did - not even Dylan, it was a whole different aesthetic.
As for Johnny well, his junkie reputation sometimes gets the press but his streak of 4 great albums (2 Dolls, 1 Heartbreakers and 1 solo) is almost unheard of in Punk - he was for a time Rock and Roll royalty.

Hilarious how Sleater-Kinney can make this. Does not seem like this board's thing at all. There's way not enough voters.

This a really cool list - quite varied so far!
Chuck Berry for me is the main man in Rock's formation and that stuff still sounds great - the first real triple threat, songwriter, singer, guitarist - there's not many guys who are great at all 3 - he's obviously one of them.
