Saw the first episode of season 3. Looks like they sorta revamped it. Production values are off the charts amazing.

WOW. That was a lot to take in. I thought the premiere of season 3 was sensational and imo we are in for a great/memorable season. Evan Rachel Wood is total smoke show and I love that Aaron Paul was cast as the struggling "everyday man" role. I think he's going to do a good job on this show. Shout out to Kid Cudi and Marshawn "Beast Mode" Lynch in their roles as well. lol Also, kudos to HBO for raising the budget on this show. Looks expensive af. Money well spent.

Bump
Lovin Aaron Paul in this. His tortured character is the best thing about this season and he flat out showcased his acting skills in episode 7. I thought it was great and have no clue where this season is headed but I am pumped for next week's episode.

Less convoluted than season 2 but a passive watch nonetheless. I feel like the novelty factor has worn off thanks to the show creators toying too much. Splendid visuals and performances but an interesting show gone off the rails.

The third season was kind of trash. Tonally it's all over the place and the story is kind of ridculous and more importantly just not very interesting. Even if the second season is a bit convoluted, it still worked for me as it had something to add to the first season - this I feel had nothing to add, and very little to say. Maybe it's just a show that worked in it's original setting but doesn't succeed to expand on that. It's not all negative though, it has great production values, nice visuals and some great performances. I also still believe that there is an interesting story in there somewhere, they just need to find it for the upcoming season.

Anyone seen the fourth season? I enjoyed a fair few of the episodes as standalone episodes, some nice twist and turns along the way. However, I always felt that it would kind of build to nothing in the end and having seen the final episode that was absolutely the case. Other than these narritve twists there is nothing really going on here - a lot of mysterious dialog is spewed over and over only to lead to nothing, the big subplots as well as characters arcs do not get good resolutions at all (and some turns in character that just do not make sense at all) and a lot of the time it's just confusing to be confusing. It did set up for another season, I guess I am gonna see that as well to see if it leads anywhere. I do wonder though how they are gonna bring back William this time. The show itself still got mostly good production values, and still some good performances but it really is just an empty shell of a show nowadays.

I enjoyed the journey but agree the finale was a waste.

Episode 7 was a candidate for greatest episode of the show- certainly the best since s01- but was undermined that the writers wanted to squeeze one last season out of it, which, with the poor ratings, high cost and the merger, means we'll likely never get anyways. Still, this season was very much an improvement, but clearly too little too late for most of the audience.

I considered trying to catch up on this but the reviews for S4 were so mixed, and now that it's canceled I'm kinda glad I didn't bother.
