“I like stylization. I try to get away with as much as possible until people start laughing at it.”
Hmmmmmm.......again talented names but Herzog, Kieslowski and De Palma are personal faves and the first 2 especially are more than just guys who made movies I liked, they are rather 2 of the most talented, unique and daring artists period. Like there is no one like them in film history.
It's gonna be sad that they are behind mere craftsmen but good names on the list no doubt.......

“I don't think you can be good or even aspire to be good, unless you're prepared to push everything aside in your life and just drive to execute your vision of that movie, in such a way that it really communicates to an audience. It's a very difficult thing to do. ”

Mann is too low. But #25 is about where he has always been ranked in IMDB history. Goddamn old Hollywood fanboys taking his reputation down though - only types of film buffs I ever heard bad word from him on.

Tree of Life is in my top 10 of all time, but I didn't include Malick on my list because that's the only film of his that I have any real passion for (maybe Days of Heaven too). Still, his placement here isn't unexpected...
I want all of you to enjoy your cake, so... enjoy.
