Plenty of horror films opened big and then completely collapsed afterwards due to bad WOM. Case in point: the Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street remakes and The Bye Bye Man.

I didn't know the movie was this anticipated. How is this possible? It didn't have known faces and even the Conjuring hoopla has faded a bit now but it delivered franchise best.

great for The Nun. some of those horror films are able to make SERIOUS profits due to their low budgets (The Nun's budget is only $22 million ) .
