My all time favorite episode of any show (too hard to really just pick one) is possibly the season finale of the third season of Lost - Through the Looking Glass.
I think Lost is a teriffic show (amongst my five favorite shows), and I think the first five seasons are brilliant. The third season is paradoxically probably both the worst and the best of those seasons. It's pretty clear for a while that the showrunners kind of throws stuff in there and fills it up with filler episodes, presumably because they didn't really know how many episodes they were gonna make of Lost. Somewhere in the second half of the season (when they had negotiated and end date for the show) I think it really picks up and there is a sense that the show really starts to go somewhere again. There are multiple fantastic episodes towards the end of the season and it culminates with Through the Looking Glass. In every sense of the word this was a game changing episode - it completely turned the show upside down and really set up the following seasons in a very interesting way (both in terms of story telling mechanisms as well as the actual story) and it was above all just a grand finale featuring great on-island action with lots of emotion and surprising events. And that finale scene, just stunning.
Other favorites: Game of Thrones - The Winds of Winter Dark - Between the Time Watchmen - A God Walks Into Abar Breaking Bad - Full Measure Prison Break - Go Twin Peaks - Lonely Souls Westworld - The Bicameral Mind

I also like the first six episodes of it a lot more than most people. I'd go - 3 > 4 > 2 > 1 > 5 > 6 6 is kinda a mess, but still has some great moments, like in the finale.

Personally I feel that the fifth season is strongest as I think it is the most consistently written season (but it might just be because that was when I was at my peak Lost fandom). I agree that season 3 has the highest peaks, especially towards the end it is absolutely fabolous. My ranking of the season might be
5>4>1>3>2>6
That would probably change if I ever do a complete rewatch. I agree that the last season is kind of a mess, though it has grown on me over the years (I was really disspointed back in the days).
