Jesus, this hyperbolic nonsense is exactly what I'm talking about. I don't hate her at all, I actually like her a lot (why else would she be in my avi?). Yes, it's great she had a career turnaround. It's very impressive! Good for her. And as mentioned before, many other actresses had done it before and many will do it again. "t took guts for people to keep supporting her when she was unpopular with large sections of the media in the real world." This victim narrative you're pushing, as if it was Brave to be a Nicole Kidman fan. I'm sorry, I'm laughing.... Please, you are clearly a superfan of Kidman's short, ' solid, but not quite as good' mini-me, Naomi Watts. Kidman is in your avi now because she's kissing her former Nanny (as Watts is known on another site). Sorry that Watts career in recent years has basically been a disaster, but no need to keep taking it out on Kidman. Maybe if Watts does something (get better taste, find a new agent) she might have a career turnaround like her vastly superior best friend. I've read enough of your bitching and passive agressive shots about positive comments towards Kidman (not just on this is thread either) on this board to count you as a someone who doesn't like her all that much (maybe the fact the Watts is nowhere near as revered as Kidman feuls that need to see Kidman not praised too highly). Which is totally fine...you don't need to be a big fan, or a fan at all. It's not some mandatory requirement. You've made your point. But people will no more stop singing Kidman's praises than they will for Meryl Streep's or Bette Davis or any other great/legendary actress with decades of work behind them. Grow up and deal with it. Kidman has earned her status the fucking hard way. If you don't like the supposed 'hyperbole', tough shit. Because no one is stopping for you. You sound like a whiny baby. "Wah-wah, stop acting like Kidman is so great, Other actrsses been great too, like Nanny, wah-wah! Won't the world think about the other actresses too.Wah-wah!" Your bitternes over Kidman's status relative to Watts' is laughably transparent.Concentrate on supporting Watts instead of moaning about the much deserved praise or reverence Kidman gets. Watts needs it. Disaster? Not when she had a supporting role in one of the most critically acclaimed films in years by a beloved auteur just last year. But that's besides the point. Also, most of what you're saying is subjective. Anyway, she has nothing to do with the topic at hand so I'm not sure why you're bringing her into the conversation (as Kidman fans always seem to do in every thread for some reason...) Hm..I'm the whiny baby? You're the one childishly using a nickname and calling someone a "nanny" (???) I'm not even going to bother responding to the rest. You're visibly upset, so I'll just let you be.

I brought up Nanny, because bitterness regarding her currently failing/fading career (even with the Lynch show, which only really helps Lynch, not his actors ) is obviously a central motivation behind you shading Kidman in thread after thread. You don't need to be Sherlock Holmes to figure this shit out.
What makes it worse, is that even getting one of Kidman's leftover projects at this stage might rejuvenate Watts. Yet she keeps picking trash like Gypsy and The Book Of Henry.
Play with fire, you get burnt. Bye.
Support your fave, and let others support theirs. Not very difficult is it. If I thought you were respectful, I wouldn't even think of pulling the Nanny card. No one will question your right to praise Watts. That is your right. Yet you think you are some kind of heroic figure coming for Kidman supporters who think and say she is one of the GOAT contending/level actresses. Even if you disagree, her career is such that it's within reason to put her in that sphere. Don't be bitter about it.You are better of just ignoring it if hearing her being praised sets you off so much. Because as I said, it will get worse for you. It is what it is.
Peace

Like one of Watts' leftover projects (Queen of the Desert) helped revive Kidman's career at the time so well? Lol, she doesn't need any leftovers. The roles will come again, as talented directors will always seek her out. Right now she's just having a dry spell and needs the right part to put her in people's mind again. Plus, Watts was doing much better than Kidman 05-07, and in 2014. They both have their off and on years. She'll recover.
Even her last two flops were by the director of a massive blockbuster (and almost Star Wars) and by someone who had a critically acclaimed film (Short Term 12).

I'm so worried about Naomi, its clearly not her decision to pick up trash, she just doesn't have anything else going on for her. Kidman should help Watts by producing something and cast her friend.

Well actually her agent didn't want her to take Gypsy, but she went for it anyway lol. She obviously doesn't have a good eye for scripts. But like I said, hopefully she can capitalize off another Impossible type role and get an Oscar nom, but this time not waste that buzz on the trash she took in 2013. This sounds like her best bet, esp since Reese Witherspoon is producing. deadline.com/2016/12/penguin-bloom-naomi-watts-sam-bloom-reese-witherspoon-bruna-papandrea-1201866906/It's like King Kong and The Impossible in one film lmao! Sounds like it could be a cheesy story, but who knows. Hopefully they can get a talented director.

John Adams far better rating than Big Little Lies? Eh... Big Little Lies is ranked #137 on IMDB. John Adams #143. Dude, I loved John Adams. I was one of the highest proponents of that series when it was released and I gave Giamatti and Dillane wins. And Linney...the year was just too strong. But.... even if you go outside of IMDB, I'm not sure where you get the idea that John Adams gets better ratings, I never got the impression it was way more liked. John Adams had better ratings on tv when it aired. The average viewership was constantly over 2.5 million. Big Little Lies had half of that.
