*sigh* I made the decision not to complain about these awards. The dark days will go on until at least 2010, so I have to conserve my energy. But uuuuuuuugh to all of this.

The one good point of that movie. If I could have gotten an entire movie of McConaughey, I would have.

So glad DiCaprio won...
Great work yet again, pendragon.

Well half of these were random as all hell and half of these were predictable as all hell.
But the biggest surprise was Abdi in Supp. Actor. That was out of NOWHERE. I knew it was a performance many liked, but to win in a stacked category. Crazy. But I'll take it. Could do worse.
Also love the Her wins for Score and Production Design. Didn't realize people could hate the score, but I think it's absolutely gorgeous. My love for the movie itself has died down a lot since I saw it way back when, but the music still tugs at my heart strings.
Wish the winners were as cool as the nominees (like no Short Term 12 or Pines love?!), but nothing too terrible here (probably my least favorite would be Gravity for Cinematography and Choreography, but that was to be expected).
Thanks again for putting this on!

A shame that only two people watched these awards. Sorry, but a weekend afternoon is a pretty horrible time to run these. It's kind of the time that most people try to... you know, live their lives. Weekday evenings would be ideal. You may be right. I was thinking that, living on the west coast and usually not being able to do it until I get home from work, it would be too late for some people, but maybe not. I'll keep that in mind for next time.

My schedule was different today than normal and I happened to get online at just the time the awards were starting.

Thanks again for putting this on! Abdi is definitely the highlight of the show. Shame that there was no love for the other Barkhad (Abdirahman) who was just as good and also on my ballot. I'd have loved to see them win together, festival awards style.

Eh, I really love The Wolf of Wall Street and Her, but seriously, most of these wins were pretty boring. Sure, some of them were certainly deserved (Her's production design and screenplay, Wolf's editing as well as DiCaprio), but totally shutting out great, great stuff like Inside Llewyn Davis, Short Term 12, The Place Beyond the Pines, Before Midnight, etc ... seriously? Got my hopes up with these nominees, but these results were super underwhelming. Oh well.
