Well this is already infinitely better than Genisys.

I’m looking forward to this but are they (hopefully) going back to ignoring everything after T2?

Because we really need another retcon of this series. I really hope this Halloween thing of picking and choosing what chronology to follow in old franchises doesn’t become a thing. Hell, Fallen Kingdom just about did the same thing.
Yeah, I’m not anticipating this.

I’m looking forward to this but are they (hopefully) going back to ignoring everything after T2? Yeah. It's a direct sequel to T2 and they are ignoring all the others. Ryan_MYeah Well it can't be any worse than what Genisys did to the franchise. lol.

Honestly, I haven't given a shit about the Terminator franchise in a long time...but that trailer is intruiging to me. I feel like there is a similar vibe to Logan. They do seem to be going for a Sci-fi western tonally.
Could be shit/misleading, but I feel this could actually be a return to relevance for the franchise.

I wanted to post the trailer but I couldn't find the thread.
Anyway, I just have faith in Cameron making the story.

Should be some great action, really hoping the script isn’t shit.

I thought Deadpool looked pretty ugly visually and I was hoping that with his next directorial effort and with Cameron as his producer, Tim Miller would improve at least on that front...Judging by this trailer, the opposite occured. The colors aren't just washed out, it's like the image is dimmed. Even McG's flick looked more appealing visually.

I prefer if they aimed to make the action more practical like the first two, but this is a major improvement over the last trailer. Hopefully it can please older fans while delivering something new.

Better than the first trailer, sure... but still doesn't look good. None of this feels very Terminator-y.
In T1/2, the Terminators used their brains as much as their brawn. They were essentially detectives out to find their target and use any means necessary. Sure in T1, he takes out an entire police station single handedly... but in this one it looks like this new Terminator's gonna take out an entire army base? I dunno, I just don't like it when the villains are basically using GTA cheats to play the game.
Also, the action is wayyyyyyy too fast for what are essentially robots.

There doesn't seem to be any twist/s to the formula. Mackenzie Davis' character feels exactly the same as Sam Worthington's in Salvation and old T800 is what we had in Genisys. And all terminators since T2 feel like a downgrade compared to T1000. Or at least unnecessarily complicated with unclear powers - somewhat liquidy powers like T1000 but also classic exoskeleton.
At least Linda Hamilton is front and centre it seems.

They secretly screened this tonight and the reactions were very positive. Do we finally have another good Terminator film after 28 years?! 🤭 Test Screening
