Looks very 90's trashy. Like what if someone watched Gone Girl and thought "hey, what if I made an ugly-looking version of this with mediocre actors and writing?"

This is such a glorious piece of airplane trash. This is exactly what I imagine Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell set out to do when they made that satire Lifetime thriller that nobody ever got around to watching. It's what something like The Girl on the Train would be like if everyone involved didn't make the mistake of taking it seriously. There's like 6 or 7 genres going on at the same time here, sometimes all at once in the same scene. There's one scene in particular that mirrors another one in Gone Girl but cranks it up to 11 to such a degree that I'm 100% confident I'll make an idiot of myself in public multiple times this week by laughing out loud whenever it randomly pops into my head. Blake Lively is legitimately, unironically great, and letting her murder me while displaying a fashionable amount of sideboob that's just enough to stay tasteful is now on my bucket list. And the last 10 minutes are art. 2001 just got BTFO.

It was pure camp, and I loved it. "Sweetie don't do that, you just got hit by a car, I'm worried about your knees." There are no words.

This seriously hasn't aged well AT ALL. I fucking loved this movie from the first 2 seconds until the ending credits. I shouldn't have underestimated it.

Is it wrong that I genuinely hope Blake Lively gets nominated for this? I know there’s no chance but still...

Also, Gone Girl is a ugly film with mediocre acting and writing.

I actually skipped out on a cinema visit a few weeks ago to see this, as I thought it looked to shit even for me to watch. I'm sorry I did now. I might be tempted to go, as it's still playing.

and I was right. Loved it. Pure enjoyable camp. Lively and Kendrick are both terrific, hope at least one of them would get a Golden Globe nomination (Comedy).

Is it wrong that I genuinely hope Blake Lively gets nominated for this? I know there’s no chance but still... She's fantastic, and I hope she gets a Globe nod. This is exactly what the Comedy category exists for. This only works as well as it does because both leads have the perfect measure of the material; they know exactly what film they're in and they run with it with gusto. Kendrick seems like she was plucked out of a completely different project and thrown right in the middle of a whodunit murder mystery with no adjustment whatsoever, and watching everyone around her play it completely seriously while she's in full Disney romcom mode works far more than it has any right to. And Lively brilliantly toes the line that Feig was going for, smack dab between serious thriller and full-on campy satire. She embraces the ridiculousness of the whole thing without ever going overboard, and she sells her character like nobody's business. I could watch her performance for hours on end.
