I’m 100% on her side here. She should get what’s she owed and not get screwed because they first wouldn’t give her a movie because the former head thought girl superheroes couldn’t sell toys and then because of the pandemic and Disney wanting to boost their steaming subs, Disney should have attempted to renegotiated her contract at a minimum.
I wonder if The Rock and Emily Blunt will be next?

I'm absolutely on her side, but at the same time I think that with this move her career is over.

I wonder if The Rock and Emily Blunt will be next? This is going to be a tricky one because if the contract doesn't say you can't do same day release then how can she win the lawsuit? It was released in the theatre it just didn't make enough for her to get a huge payoff.

To be fair, if I lost 50 million dollars in bonuses, I'd probably sue as well. Disney should have renegotiated her contract when they did the day and date Disney + release.

I don't believe that there are no actors in any of Disney's movies whose contracts said one thing but something else happened come release. And not just actors.

I'm absolutely on her side, but at the same time I think that with this move her career is over. No way. So many top-tier directors will admire this move. Nolan will probably cast her again just for this. QT also has beef with Disney, so maybe she gets a small role in #10 now.

I'm absolutely on her side, but at the same time I think that with this move her career is over. Nah. She's a legitimate talent and one of the biggest actresses around. If this were happening for her first Disney movie it'd be one thing but but this after she's more than some her part for them over the last decade.

Disney hits back. They trying to paint her in a bad light and mention how much she has already gotten paid.
Screw Disney. If they broke the contract, they need to pay. Scarlett has a valid case. It shouldn't be that complicated.

Disney's gonna lose. Out here sounding like scammers. I’m sure they will settle for an undisclosed amount when everything is said and done. Right now they’re just jockeying to not take too big of a public hit.

It was released in the theatre it just didn't make enough for her to get a huge payoff. In that case then Disney is stupid for even going there. They have top lawyers so they knew better.

Wonder moving forward in this Covid-19 world with the studios who have streaming services (WB,Disney, etc.) that movie stars that have their earnings tied into their movies Box office performance will have their agents include tighter language in their contracts so that this shit doesn't keep happening that leads to legal battles between the talent and the studios.
