The tedious procession of Federer and Nadal to another final is really putting me off, but I've been trying to remain somewhat invested. I'm crossing my fingers Del Porto might spoil the party tomorrow, but somehow I doubt it. I hope Serena wins, as I really want her to get to 25 slams, and overshadow that shitbird Margaret Court. Leaving her legend status to one side, she seems like a total shitbird and it'd be nice to see her name off the top of that list. Also...

I am pulling for Federer, love him (loathe Nadal, like Djoko) - Federer has a great stat I love to throw around (he has a lot):
He didn't lose a set in winning Wimbledon last year. That only happened one other time for men in this tournament, ever - well since 1922 when they changed the structure (Borg, in 76). So Federer won Wimbledon last year (oldest ever) easier than he ever had before. In his mid-30s - that is some serious selling your soul to the Devil stuff........... It's conceivable he could do it again too this year - no one really does that, plays at their absolute best as they got older.

I don't doubt that Federer will come through and win this, but it is very cool to see Anderson only two holds away from taking it to the fifth. If, by some miracle Federer and Nadal were knocked out today, it would be the best moment in tennis since Del Potro won the US Open.

, but then why would he? At his best he is still pretty damn amazing and for most of the tour, unbeatable. I'd prefer to see the back of Nadal first anyway.

Now I just need Del Porto to turn his match around and it'll be a glorious day.

Finally got to watch for an extended period today to see that Federer match. Other than that I'd just watched brief bits of Serena.

Sad that Serena couldn't win it, but I still think 25 is doable, and it is always nice to see a new name on a slam roll of honor. Well played Kerber.
Shame we didn't get a new name on the men's side, but the absence of the Federer v Nadal final was the highlight of the sporting year 2018 so far.
