It doesn't look like a poorly-made trainwreck that I's thought it'd be, but it doesn't look very good either. I mean, it seems to be competently made, but still a sugar-coated Nicholas Sparks movie. Gaga is a terrible actress in everything I've seen her him, but she seems to have improved in the trailer.

It actually looks really good. The soundtrack is going to be amazing though.

The best part of the trailer is when Gaga belts it out. Otherwise this looks pretty formulaic.

This could be a huge hit. They should push it back to Christmas. October 5th looks crowded right now.
You guys suck. I thought it looked great. It jumped up most anticipated list.

I think this movie as well as the soundtrack is going to do well. The two original songs previewed in the trailer sound really good. I know the board doesn't really like these types of movies, except for that La La Land lovefest which is still pretty interesting considering both Ryan and Emma could not hold a note, however, I think the movie will do well with the masses and the Academy.

I've been humming that shallow song ever since I watched the trailer.

How would you alphabetically list Lady Gaga's name? Would we go by the L or the G?

I really like the sort of melancholy tone that seems to pervade these clips... I can tell already that Cooper and Gaga seem to have mad chemistry. Cooper's low, gravelly speaking voice is rather striking as well.

They played all four clips before The Nun last night and the audience was audibly annoyed.

I remember that. No groaning for Dunkirk but someone in my theater actually said “WE’RE NOT GONNA WATCH THIS MOVIE” for A Star is Born.

Ouch but to be fair The Nun and A Star is Born probably don't have too much crossover.

Nice that everybody is intoxicated with the buzz and all and Cooper may get a ton of awards good for him but I'm staying firmly in the don't fncking get Bradley Cooper in anything camp.
That's a cloying as fnck trailer and every clip of this movie so far is too.

I have to admit I did cringe a little at the clip where Sam Elliott talks about how music is essentially 12 notes and how "all the artist can offer the world is how they see those 12 notes." (Also, that is only true if we're just talking about western music and the equal tempered system, but who cares about the rest of the world and other cultures, right?)

Well why would Sam Elliott’s character care?

Well why would Sam Elliott’s character care? Just joking around... I just found his dialogue in that clip to be somewhat cheesy mostly because of how he seems to be mixing metaphors in a vague, folksy way
