Very much so, and she's very much misunderstood and overlooked even today - people go towards the tragic aspects of the story but kind of miss the overall and sadly repetitive nature of the story - which in this #metoo era is seriously f'd up in how shallow we are - discovered, tossed away, re-discovered, tossed away again, marginalized........repeat until .......death. I always think in the #metoo era Seberg's story is the sad one we can learn from and Ida Lupino is a sort of flipside triumphant one - and let me tell you, we'd have to live a long, long, long time before anyone mentions Ida Lupino as a pivotal directorial/Indie director on here  . That's a lovely picture of Pappas btw.......look at that and the first you thing you think is look how intelligent she looks - and you don't say that about many people from photos. |
