That guy should sue. His song is better too btw. 100 times better. Based on his comments, he won't sue so hopefully he gets more recognition.

So what does everyone think? Possibly the most blatant act of music plagarism I can recall in recent years. Jase Harley is being way too chill about this, which makes me think Glover's people have gotten in touch with him and made some sort of settlement so he doesn't fan the backlash flames on social media. This will probably quell some of the "Donald Glover is a genius" sentiment that's been brewing with all he's achieved in the last few years. Which is a shame, as he is really talented despite this awful plagarism. It'll be interesting to see how the music industry reacts come awards time. I expected This Is America to be nominated for and win a bunch of major awards like Grammys. But surely that would be an embarrassment if the industry awarded a clearly stolen song.

Took me forever to listen to this. I’m no music expert (I mean I’ll never get what people see in Frank Ocean)... but I dig it.

(I mean I’ll never get what people see in Frank Ocean) Aw, that's too bad. Some of his stuff can take a little while to fully click for you, but once it does there are few currently working artists who can evoke as strong a reaction or convey emotion as effectively as he does. If you ever want to get into his music, I'd suggest starting with Channel Orange, that's by far his most accessible album. Thinkin Bout You, Pink Matter and Forrest Gump in particular are outstanding tracks. The latter two destroyed me when I first listened to them. Blonde and Endless are beautiful too, just a little looser and more fluid with their structures.

Channel Orange is a classic.
