Too old. He would be nearly 50 (Craig's current age) by the time they would start making the next one after Craig's final outing (assuming the next one is released in 2022 for the Diamond anniversary). Maybe Elba could do it if they chose to make the new Bond an older veteran type... but I'm guessing the new Bond actor will be expected to do more than one or two films, so it doesn't seem practical... Fifty ain't too old with Hollywood makeup. Take away a little gray and Elba doesn't look a day over 40. And personally, I'm tired of action leads all looking like 25 year-olds. Bond requires a level of gravitas that only a middle-aged or middle-aged- looking performer can bring. We must be watching different action films because all of our best action stars these days are like 50+; Cruise, Reeves, Neeson, Washington etc.

But you're right, I don't watch most Reeves/Neeson/Washington action movies. Cruise yes, because Mission Impossible has been consistently great since III.

Should be Cavill. Fassbender looks like meth addict lately, btw

Oh honey, I like the idea of Tom Hiddleston, who has a kind of 1950/60s vibe. I also like the idea of Henry Cavill as well.
James Bond should be as Ian Flemming intended.

I think they will bow to pressure and the next Bond will be black or Asian, so maybe John Boyega,Daniel Kaluuya,Malachi Kirby or Riz Ahmed.Riz Ahmed would be my pick.

If Tom Cruise can do his own stunts at 56, I'm sure an already athletic Elba can manage with a few good stunt doubles at least. It's not about being 56, it's just what Cruise does (giving the fans more than they want by topping each of his crazy stunts with each film) like what Jackie Chan used to do. I seriously doubt Elba can do half of what Cruise did.

If they want to do a female bond Rebecca Ferguson would be the best choice.

He's not supposed to be a 25 year old, but Connery said Bond should be perpetually in his 30's and I agree that's about right. Partly for that reason I really wish Craig wasn't coming back for another one. He was too old even in Spectre. And then there were those Moore films in the 80's where it just came off as a joke that this man who was pushing 60 was beating people up, climbing mountains, and had 20 year olds throwing themselves at him. On the whole I'm just not crazy about the "old man action star" trend. Cruise can make it work (largely because he's apparently used his Scientologist superpowers to avoid aging at all in the past 20 years) but not many other people can.
