woah, was not expecting to see Brad Dourif here. Cool choice. Robert Blake, Attenborough, Michael Rooker, Phillip Baker Hall, and Gleeson were also tops, and the editing in that opening was 10/10.

LOVE your 2017 acting wins. Wasn't at all expecting you to take Gosling over Day-Lewis, Phoenix, and even Harry Dean freaking Stanton, but I love that you did. Still can't decide if he or Jackman is my personal win, but either way, it's a masterful performance that deserves all the love it gets. The McDormand win is aces, goes without saying. The Beale pick is frickin' awesome; I still have him in '18 at the moment, where I imagine he'll stay my win for a good while. He'd probably be my win if I had him in '17, honestly. Brilliant work that is just as haunting as it is hilarious. And the tie in supporting actress is understandable. I personally have Manville taking it, and while I'm not quite sure how de Armas stacks up in my own line-up, she's for sure up there and well-deserving of the recognition.
Good stuff so far, can't wait to see what else you pick.
And yeah, montages are great as always.
