I thought she was really good, and it's not like it was a tight year.

Oh hell yes. I was surprised by how good she was. Very strong supporting female performance in a film heavily populated by male characters.

she is THE weak link in that film as far as I'm concerned. Pretty much the only one. Terrible work. I hear she only had 3 days to film it all? It showed!

Definitely the weak link of the film's cast, she has few good and powerful moments but overall the performance is inconsistent, especially in her first sceneS. That being said, I still have her over Spencer who really has almost nothing to work with.

No she didn't. She almost singlehandedly ruined Moonlight for me. Some of the most tasteless OTT acting I've ever seen and in a film of such natural grace and subtlety. She's godawful.

She hits a couple of bum notes (her big showdown with Ali is particularly amateurish), but her final scene is extremely powerful and almost makes up for them.

Not at all. I really think it's a flat out bad performance, especially in the middle section. And all the performances around her are so incredible that she looks even worse in contrast. I love the ensemble except for her, and the movie itself is one of the best of the decade, but she was a huge disappointment.

No, not really. She rang false in almost all her scenes and was annoyingly OTT in what should have been a more natural performance. Her yelling at Chiron in the middle segment there was outright bad acting. She was the weakest link in an otherwise stellar cast. That being said, the film reached an emotional apex during her final convo with Chiron, and Harris gets full credit for that. So yeah, I don't think her nomination is deserving but I'm more pissed about Spencer's than Harris's because of how much that last scene resonated...and it's been a while since I've watched so the bad has mixed with the good and neutralized my opinion a little.

She's good. It was a weak year for Supporting Actress though.
