There's not really any contest here. The Academy is ridiculous for branding Wings as the first Best Picture winner. Sunrise is pretty much the best thing they ever awarded any main award.
Wings is a good film but it's also on the pro-war propaganda side of WW I films. All Quiet on the Western Front is much better and a much more honest depiction of the entire thing. I also prefer The Big Parade if we're talking silent films.
