But Woodcock makes dresses with which she is willing to sacrifice herself in the cold...... I wonder what she has to say about Mother!

I genuinely don’t understand how anyone could stop any movie after 3 minutes. Like that’s often shorter than an opening scene.

She sounds very stupid. I wonder if she's doing it on purpose to get people to hate her.

WOW! Turns out Jennifer Lawrence was mslovak all along..."I watched Phantom Thread last night, but I turned it off after 3 minutes as that's plenty of time to know if a film is good or not. I'm giving it a 9.5/10 as that's my thumbs down score for films that are not memorable...cause it's gotta be memorable"

Well, I love her (as an actress, as a female, as the obvious and wonderful weirdo that she is) and I love Phantom Thread but we do that too, it's just no one interviews us about it - I mean I would have walked out right at the f'n start of The Shape Of Water myself but alas I couldn't.
She most certainly doesn't sound dumb - people should be careful not to equate film taste or commitment/interest with intelligence......I mean, if I was with her and she said "this sucks" I would have probably just told her how cute she was and kissed her a billion times and then gone and got something to eat.

I mean, it's a shame that an Oscar voter has that kind of opinion, but whatever, it is what it is.

She simply isn't the world-class talent that the media (and the Academy) have made her out to be... She has no technique and no intelligent core. She dismisses education beyond middle school as accoutrement and she has no appreciation for film as an art form. Her public persona is entirely centered around being rude, crass, and vulgar. She is (with the right styling and lighting) a generically pretty blonde that you see all over Southern California. That's not an insult, because physical beauty isn't everything, but for her to be the face of a fashion house as storied (and elegant) as Dior is just all kinds of wrong. This (obviously) angered me more than it should have...

She gave up on it only 3 minutes in? ..........
Hold up, I've seen a couple 1-minute clips from Red Sparrow, lemme post my in-depth pan on Letterboxd if that's all it takes to judge an entire film and its themes.

I fairness, I had to sit through the trailer for Red Sparrow 4 times in the cinema last week and I've already decided I hate the film.

Who gives up on a film after watching only three minutes of it? I didn't give up on Netflix's Death Note until I watched 13 minutes of it.

I fairness, I had to sit through the trailer for Red Sparrow 4 times in the cinema last week and I've already decided I hate the film. I'm gonna give it a chance because I really like the cast, but yeah, the trailer and those clips are not encouraging at all. What annoys me isn't even that she didn't sit through the whole thing. If she wasn't captivated by what she saw, that's totally fine, she can watch whatever she wants. The issue is she pretends to know what the story is, what the characters are like and what themes PTA wanted to communicate, all based on nothing but what she made up on her own in her head, and then she belittles the film for it. Come on now.

I love Phantom Thread, but it's just a movie, not a fucking IQ test. To dismiss the person who starred in the incredible Winter's Bone, won an Oscar at very young age and took a huge risk with mother! as unintelligent because she didn't go through a movie that the very same you people keep saying how "hard it is to watch" is just... stupid?

Come on now. Generally I will see it through with something, no matter how much I am hating it or am cripplingly bored by it. I think I've probably only turned off a handful or less films in my life, so cases like this do irk me. I can say for sure that if I don't finish a film, I ain't commenting on it.
