Well it's good to know that young women everywhere can drop out of school and go study acting to be just like Jennifer Lawrence.
*hears whispering through earpiece*
Well it's good to know that young women everywhere can drop out and be discovered on the streets on NYC while their families go on vacation with no formal training whatsoever.

Her attitude comes off as smug and privileged. Even Steven Spielberg who dropped out of college went back later in life. You don't say something stupid like this when you have young women looking up to you. If my 15 year old cousin told me this, I would roll my eyes at her hard. Even though Jennifer dropped out of freakin middle school, she still had time to attend school during this whole thing. With an attitude like this, I'm sure she visited the casting couch.

1/ Not sure what this thread is doing in the scandal section. 2/ She's not advocating anything. She was just answering that journalist's question . It's not as if she said "school sucks" or "kids don't need an education". She's not encouraging other young people to follow her example. She's talking about her own personal experience . Also education and degrees are important for sure but there are still people out there who managed to succeed in life without finishing school. After all, life is different for everyone. We all have our own hopes and challenges. And the paths to success are just as varied as the people on this planet. That's a good thing that it all worked out well for her.
Just my 2 cents.

Uh oh. Isn't she planning on being very politically active? I can see it now from people, "why should we listen to a middle school dropout?"

Now her attitude is, oh I don't regret dropping out of the freaking 8th grade cause I got tons of money. Please. Dakota fanning managed to finish school as a child actor. How is it possible that jennifer never even went the home school route. Please.

Had no idea that she lied about finishing high school before but when and where on Earth did she say that I don't regret dropping out of middle school because I have tons of money ? She said that she left school because she wanted to focus only on acting . And what about her attitude ? She clearly said that she never felt smart. Good for Dakota Fanning for finishing high school but once again , everyone has different paths and desires/ambitions . Some people out there managed to lead a successful life without finishing high school. Besides , Jennifer can still go back to school anytime she wants to . It's never too late.

“And when I’m reading this script, and I feel like I know exactly what it would look like if somebody felt that way. That was a whole part of my brain that I didn’t even know existed — something that I could be confident in, and I didn’t want to let it go.”
She's such a dolt. Glad she didn't waste any teachers precious time .

And how many actors went to college and are still dumb as fuck? She did fine in the end. Who needs school education when you can just jump start your dream job as a teenager and ride a long, still lasting spree of fame and success. As if she needs to know what island Iceland is on or what year the War of 1812 started.

I mean, everyone is cutting back. It’s happening in every industry – including our own. All of a sudden, people are doing jobs that they hate and they’re not making as much money as they thought they would or they’ve lost their jobs entirely. I’ve started to see people looking more toward their own passions and what really excites them.”

If they want to move the thread so be it. This is where I placed it. she didn't have to say it, called using critical thinking skills and deductive reasoning skills. Do you really think an unsuccessful, 8th grade dropout is going to talk about how they don't regret it? No, only someone who has made tons of money. Dakota Fanning attends college at NYU. I know that people have different paths and ambitions and you don't have to go to college if you don't want to because it is not for everyone. That is not what happened here, she dropped out of 8th grade. As for her going back to school, please, she should have been going to school anyway during her rise to fame.

I are talking about dropping out of the 8th grade and telling young girls that it is okay as long as you make a lot of money at the end. Umm, like I said, she got lucky. Hollywood is fickle, we'll see where she is in five years. She needs to know things especially if she plans on telling other people how they should be living his/her life. As for obtaining an education, well, once upon a time a group of people didn't want another group of people to get one. If education was so unimportant, that would have never happened.

Jennifer lies about finishing high school"Karen homeschooled Jennifer in Los Angeles and repeatedly warned her that she’d be sent back to Kentucky if she didn’t focus on her schoolwork. She graduated early with a high GPA"
