Its Lawrence vs. Riva Part 2.
Plus La La Land is nominated 14 times and Amour was even up for best Picture and Director. And Riva was way better than Huppert.
Id still love for Huppert to win. I love Emma Stone and Id hate for her to be considered a weak winner, because shes really very talented!

No need to worry. There's always backlash in the beginning. In 50 years no one will really care that Huppert lost (just like it doesn't really matter that Liv Ullmann never won) and La la Land will be an Hollywood classic and it will be seen as logical that the lead iconic role won the Oscar.

As much as I'd like to see Huppert winning, Stone clearly has this.

Stone has it down. No contest.I don't think Huppert is popular enough.

I think Portman SHOULD win, I think Stone WILL win. That said, I'd love to see Huppert upset and win.

Stone. I have a whole rationale for my final predictions tomorrow, but basically... - Stone has the momentum - Huppert's case feels very comparable to Leo vs Matt, and we all know where that ended - It's stupid, I know, but she's the only nomination for a film that many voters may not take kindly to - As beloved as she may be in the industry, she doesn't have the type of narrative going for her that someone like Julianne Moore did

I'm rooting for Huppert, but I think Stone will win.

I said this on the IMDb board, but I'm going with Huppert. Sure Stone is a wiser choice, but I just feel like living on the edge a little bit. Let me live!

Stone will almost certainly win at this point - Huppert would still be an upset
Funny how Portman was seen as the early lock, then the Golden Globes happened, a glimmer of hope for the surprise winner Huppert, then the narrative switched to Stone who ends up steamrolling with SAG and BAFTA and more than likely the Oscar
