The whole ensemble is fantastic, but Simon Russell Beale man, he's so fucking great and easily in my lineup. Andrea Riseborough also proves yet again that she's one of the best actresses of her generation too. Riseborough and Friend probably could've done with a bit more focus, but they were good with what they had. And yeah, Beale waltzed away with it.

It was alright. I kind of hate Ianucci’s work but this one wasn’t bad. The one line that cracked me up was “YOU’RE NOT EVEN A PERSON, YOU’RE A TESTICLE!”

I really really liked it. It might be the darkest comedy I've ever seen. I do consider it a comedy because I was cracking up repeatedly throughout the film. The dialogue is filled with the hysterical insults that Iannucci is known for and the entire ensemble is amazing. Simon Russell Beale is MVP in my book. He scared the hell out of me. And it's shocking reading about the real Lavrentiy Beria. I was convinced the film was exaggerating to make him a villain, but nope. He really was that horrible. I found the film to be really funny but I also appreciated the fact that it didn't shy away from atrocities in order to make the viewer feel more comfortable. This is a really disturbing movie and a lot of credit needs to go towards its balance of humor and horror. Favorite movie of 2018 so far probably.

Didn't find it out "uproariously" funny, but it was a great skewering on a powerful figure, with a superb cast. Buscemi and Beale in particular were acting highlights to me. Excellent satire too.
