1. Call Me By Your Name: maybe 20 or 30 less minutes wouldn't hurt. Also, more perspective to Hammer's character. 2. mother!: it's a post-movie problem, I guess. Aronofsky shouldn't have gone out of his way to explain every single detail of the movie. Also the last dialogue could be more subtle. 3. Blade Runner 2049: the editing of the ending bothers me. Ending the movie with Deckard meeting his daughter is a powerful one, but it's not the main arc. I think it would've made more sense, structurally wise, to first show Deckard and his daughter, and then cut to K dying on the snow - and not the other way around. 4. Phantom Thread: PTA could've played the "creepy sister always around" more with Manville, also explore more of who is Alma. 5. Lady Bird: like it's been said, the "I wanna be popular" plot is too predictable and the screentime we waste on that could be used to explore further Lady Bird's relationship with her mom. 6. Baby Driver: Bats is so fucking annoying. Like, he and the other antagonists didn't have to be so damn annoying. 7. The Shape of Water: the prejudice allegory is too on the nose, like the scene where Jenkins is rejected by the delicatessen guy. 8. The Beguiled: clocking at 1h30, there could've been at least thirty more minutes to explore more the girls. There's so much that's implied that it can be a lackluster. 9. The Killing of a Sacred Deer: it could've used more of Lanthimos' humor. 10. I, Tonya: so, after the incident (aka the most important part of the plot), Tonya's not the focus, but her husband and his dumb friend? Also, Janney's role could've been better written.
