mobile.nytimes.com/2018/02/03/opinion/sunday/this-is-why-uma-thurman-is-angry.html?referer=https://www.google.com/Tough read. She was assaulted by Weinstein. She has some pretty damning comments about Tarantino too. (More about on set saftey than sexual assault. He forced her to drive an unsafe car that resulted in an accident and permenant injuries. (Reminder: his next film was Death Proof) Really bad look. I wonder how it will affect him or if there is any fallout for his next film. Twitter is already calling for his head. I wouldn't be surprised if Leo drops out (Scorsese will be available soon)

I too wouldn't be surprised if Leo drops out of QT's latest project. This was a damning article to read. Leo doesn't like to be around any type of drama or controversy at all. (Reminds me of when Mad Mel went on his drunken anti- Semantic tirade and Leo distanced himself from Mel's viking project)

He also is alleged to have spit and choked her. This is inexcusable behavior. Simple as that.

A few things surprised me about this:
1) Harvey Weinstein seemed much more forthcoming in this piece in terms of acknowledging certain things that happened than he's ever been before. Personally, I think he realizes that Uma Thurman is seen as very credible and people will believe her (as opposed to a Rose McGowan or Ashley Judd, actresses he can portray as unstable), so there's no point in gaslighting.
2). Everything about the Quentin Tarantino situation. And now so much makes sense, including of course why they haven't worked together since the Kill Bill films. And I do think there is something to him selecting Death Proof as his next film. Maybe Uma Thurman was always Quentin's obsession, his dream girl, the one he could never quite get, so there was an underlying element of wanting to punish her onscreen. And the car crash had a big impact on their relationship, so that would be his fixation for his next film. Inglourious Basterds even features actresses similar to his Uma. This is just a theory. It's an interesting relationship between artist and muse.
Oh and we knew Harvey Weinstein was sick, but I am also enraged by the unnamed assistants who knowingly lured actresses into Weinstein's traps.
How could they sleep at night? Those are the people who deserve a lot of the fury directed towards any actress or actor who was just pictured with Weinstein at some event years ago. We just don't have a name for them, so it's easier for Twitter to attack people who have big names.

It's being reported that he did. He admitted to strangling Kruger on Graham Norton show. (With her consent tbf) That was for the scenes. If it hadn't been him, it would have been someone else in his place to get the shot. Now Tarantino might have some fetishes. I don't doubt that, but you're framing it as if he just came up and choked them for no purpose.

This actually makes a lot of sense. No doubt Tarantino would’ve worked with Uma more if he had the option. She’s right to be pissed about that car crash since that permanently damaged her life and she’s right to have lost trust in him.
Now, about the choking and spitting part. A lot of people are starting to take that out of context. Such as this woman, who has quite a bit of followers which is worrying since she’s really taking it out of context:
The amount of replies that agree and think that he choked and spat on her maliciously worries me. I can see popular websites picking this up and running with it, thus giving people a false image of him and not focusing on the real issue here.

She is is misrepresenting it but 1. spitting wasn't in the script 2. Tarantino clearly likes doing stuff like that - choking etc. There is something wrong with him, he clearly doesn't respect women and that's on top being criminally negligent and irresponsible

There is something to analyze about why he insists on involving himself for THOSE scenes, but like I said, it's being taken out of context as well. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but the spitting scene everyone is referring to is most likely the part in Kill Bill Vol 2 where The Bride spits in Bud's face and he spits something right back in her face and says, "I win." Gross moment, and it might not have been in the script, BUT I do think it's a memorable moment.

Uma Thurman does NOT blame Tarantino. So hopefully all the Chastains and Apatows can shut up now.

That interview reads as very, very damning of him. Good to know that's not the case, though.

From her Instagram: I'm glad she added that because the piece doesn't express any remorse on Tarantino's part. It's still a horrible event that should have never happened, and I'm sure it impacted their friendship, but I do give him credit for turning over the footage finally, knowing how bad it makes him look. It could even make some people not want to work for him. She seems much more angry at the other three.

Im.side eyeing him like no tomorrow. Judd Apatow is coming across as an illogical moron. He was complaining about Quentin Tarantino "making a movie about Roman Polanski" and saying it shouldn't be financed. Um, if he's making a film set during the Manson murders, Polanski is closely connected as his wife was brutally murdered. Just because he did a horrible thing later doesn't mean he should be erased from history. That's like attacking Tarantino for making a movie about Hitler (Inglourious Basterds).

EXCLUSIVE: #QuentinTarantino explains everything: @umathurman's NYT interview, the #KillBill car crash & #HarveyWeinstein t.co/lyyr1eYR8rBravo QT. Admittedly, he comes off as self serving at times, but this is a good response. Complete and brutal honesty.
