They should have never cancelled this show and/or NBC should not have been the ones to pick it up. The fans of this now-defunct show have been petitioning networks like FX, Syfy, Showtime, AMC, Netflix, etc. to pick up a fourth season since the show's creator, Bryan Fuller, announced the rights would be up for grabs later this year in 2015 or so. I don't blame them. If you wanna know more about this whole organized petition thing, let me know.
Mads Mikkelsen, Laurence Fishburne, and Hugh Dancy are great together, and at least two of them have expressed being open to getting the show back up. Bryan Fuller is open to this too.

Fuller said that everyone was interested in coming back to do another season. I think Fuller is the one who pulled the plug due to the fact that he didn't like Amazon's deal. I think that's what I read.

I consider this to be a damn good short lived show (even though I had issues with how dumb the cops / detectives were) . Also , Michael Pitt as Mason Verger was aces . And you can't go wrong with Mads in anything.
8/10

Second half of Season 3 is some all-time worthy stuff with three STELLAR performances leading the cast.

While I dug Pitt as Verger more (the scene where he was tearing apart his own face sealed it for me) , I would have loved to see Anderson as Kurt Cobain ( Pitt played a Cobain wannabe in Last Days back in 2005) . just look at him . dude would have been perfect as Kurt

Anderson seemed to be doing an impression of Jim Carrey's Grinch.

So I got sucked into the youtube clip wormhole where I just wanted to watch their (absolutely fucking amazing) Season 3B/Red Dragon trailer and started watching so many clips.
Then it got me thinking, damn they really did WAYYYYYYY too much shit to Chilton. I mean, he's not the nicest guy... but they really did too much to that poor man.

I always thought he was the Rickety Cricket of Hannibal, lmao.

I finally watched this back in November / December and I frickin loved it. Sure, the Mason Verger stuff was weak sauce in an otherwise flawless run, but I kinda expected that, and I would feel reasonably safe in assuming most people would agree. If you leave that to one side, I can happily consider it among my all time favourites now. I'm a sucker for a reasonable level of pomposity and this show always threaded the line well. I also sorta loved how it ended, but at the same time I would have liked to have seen Buffalo Bill covered, and some more original murderers thrown into the mix, cause some of that Season 1 & 2 stuff was hella creative. Overall though, I think leave it alone.
What are peoples thoughts on Miss Anderson in this? I think I might just have a new favourite supporting actress television performance. She's just extraordinary in it! I could never take my eyes off her when she was on screen, and when she was in a scene, and she wasn't on screen, I wanted her back as soon as possible. It didn't matter what anyone one else was doing, or saying, Anderson was just demanding all my attention; which is no mean feat considering the quality work being done by pretty much everyone she shared the screen with.
I've really never been particularly interested in Anderson as an actress, I guess indifference would be that way to put it...now though, in Hannibal at least, she is a full on Queen. That final moment of Season 3, is fantastically chilling.

She's my all-time Lead Actress winner for Dana Scully, but she was still tremendous here. If you wanted to call her the greatest television actress of all time, with these performances as well as American Gods, Bleak House and The Fall, I'd brook no argument.

I hated this show when I watched it like five years ago, is it safe to assume that I probably had my head up my ass and should give it another go now that it's on Netflix?

Not sure about Netflix, but it's on US Prime. It's definitely on Netflix. When I rewatched it, I used Prime... so I didn't want to speak out of turn.
