It's Nell, a performance which is only divisive because of how honest it is - it risks being made fun of.

My personal favorite is Panic Room . Such an underrated performance in an underrated Fincher film . She really brought it strong in that one . My favorite scene was when Jodie Foster's character answers the door with the cops there & she improvises so brilliantly to get them to leave. Great great acting.

Like for real ? No, but my niece forced me to watch it and I will never forgive her, nor Foster. I'll be incredibly boring here and say Silence of the Lambs as my for realsies choice.

I'll be boring and choose The Silence of the Lambs. Thought she was excellent in Nell too, glad that someone mentioned it.
My overlooked performance is Little Man Tate. She is heartbreakingly wonderful in that.

Although she won an Oscar for TSOTL, I always thought her performances in Contact and The Brave One (2007) to bet better and more deserving of it. Great actress. The characters she plays are always complex, from a psychological perspective.

Silence of the Lambs. Haven't seen The Accused or any of her other 90s performances though.

The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane is my favourite. I love that movie. Her best performance as a child star, for sure. Though she was always the most natural child actor.

I haven't seen the movie in a long time, but there's one particular scene I remember that she is really great in where she gives this monologue and she's moving around, then she pauses and looks away and gives this haunting look and says, "I wish I could do that."
