I find it really hard to believe she didn't see anything, I don't mean rape, I mean groping or something similar, on set or at one of the many parties they both attended. On set or at parties ? Seriously ? I highly doubt Weinstein would grop women in a public space sort of speak . He wasn't that dumb . The majority of those sexual assaults were taking place in hotel rooms .

www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/meryl-streep-targeted-by-street-artists-she-knew-posters-1069400In posters that appeared in several locations in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Meryl Streep was seemingly depicted as a Harvey Weinstein enabler by anonymous street artists.
Posters hung early in the morning, before the sun came up, feature an image of Streep next to Weinstein with a red strip across her face with the text “She knew,” an apparent reference to Weinstein’s alleged sexual abuse of women over the course of decades.
The posters are a riff on the work of artist Barbara Kruger, whose signature text in red banners has been adapted and copied for decades.
The posters went up near Streep’s house in Pasadena, near the SAG-AFTRA building in Mid-Wilshire and across from the 20th Century Fox studio lot in Century City. Fox is behind the drama The Post, which stars Streep alongside Tom Hanks and opens on Jan. 11.
The artists are referring to accusations (which Streep has denied) that she had knowledge of Weinstein's alleged predatory behavior and did not speak up. That claim has been promoted by actress Rose McGowan, who alleges she was raped by Weinstein.
On Tuesday, Streep issued a response to McGowan. "I want to let her know I did not know about Weinstein’s crimes, not in the ‘90s when he attacked her, or through subsequent decades when he proceeded to attack others," Streep stated. "I wasn’t deliberately silent. I didn’t know. I don’t tacitly approve of rape. I didn’t know."

I'm doing them one better, I'm boycotting the awards altogether! No one's gonna get empowered on my watch!

Ha ha. I should go visit one of the signs. I'm near the wilshire one. I.think Streep knew he was a pig and knew about the casting couch She probably also heard rumors about the rape but the problem is that if you don't act accordingly then it gives mix signals.

Really looking forward to the ones with Matt Damon, Tarantino, Colin Firth and all the other guys who admitted they knew too i would love that (although i think tarantino's statement was pretty good). not siding with meryl here. i don't think there's a whole heck of a lot she could have done about this but come on; you expect me to believe that meryl fucking streep wasn't at least tangentially aware of this stuff? nah, not buying that one for a second. on an additional note before someone calls me out on it: fuck matt damon lmao

I don't buy it for a single second that Streep had no idea what was going on. There's no way someone who's synonymous with Hollywood like she is has never heard a rumor. With that said, though, I do believe her when she says he never did anything to her, so it might've been tangential enough to her that she dismissed it as gossip and didn't inquire further because she didn't know the extent of it. I don't think pointing fingers at *her* is particularly helpful because at the end of the day you can't expect any one actor (even someone with as much clout as Streep) to bring down arguably the single most powerful producer in the whole industry, especially after we just spent months learning about the intricate system he had in place to cover things up and keep it from ever being looked into. Trying to bring this to light on one's own wouldn't work. It's questionable that she kept on working with the guy, but not that she didn't single-handedly bring him down. (Plus, y'know, he's the serial rapist there, not her.) And it's not like there aren't loads of openly leftist men in the industry doing the exact same thing Streep is getting accused of and more. Not only has Damon worked with the guy several times even after he harrassed women who were personally close to him, he's now going out of his way to say harrassment isn't all that bad because hey, at least it's not rape!, and begging to be congratulated/apologized to because hey, #NotAllMen are abusers!. He should learn to be as skilled with his public statements as he is covering for the alleged harrassers he's pals with, yet I don't see men like him getting anywhere near as much ire. Not that Streep doesn't deserve to be questioned here, but she's way down that list all things considered.

When I saw this on the news and then they showed this poster I immediately thought "ha, someone from this neck of the woods is putting up posters of Streep!" Block that nom and let ANYONE else in. Still Streep fatigued after all these years of Academy Awards appearances.

...to Protest Harassment in Hollywood
Expect to see a lot of black on the red carpet at the 2018 Golden Globes.
Many prominent actresses (including nominees Jessica Chastain, Meryl Streep and Emma Stone) will be wearing black gowns to the awards show early next year to protest sexual harassment in Hollywood, according to multiple reports. The trend will start at the Globes on Jan. 7 and may continue throughout awards season.
ET has reached out to Hollywood Foreign Press Association reps for comment.
Actresses haven't been shy about speaking out against sexual misconduct in Hollywood. Though the storm started with allegations of decades of sexual harassment and assault by Harvey Weinstein, James Toback, Jeffrey Tambor, Kevin Spacey, Brett Ratner, Louis C.K., Russell Simmons, Dustin Hoffman and Adam Venit have all made headlines for claims of sexual misconduct.
While speaking with ET last month, Chastain opened up about the recent string of scandals, revealing that she thinks the problem is "more than just about gender."
“It's about everything in this industry. I mean, this industry, we're very quick to separate ourselves from the current administration, or things that are going on in the world," she explained.
“I want to be a part of an industry that is very inclusive,” she added. “One that teaches empathy, and the only way you do that is, you learn about someone who doesn't look like you. And I think there's a generation of artists that that is their goal.” www.etonline.com/actresses-will-reportedly-wear-black-golden-globes-protest-harassment-hollywood-92738
Awful why just don't go there

To be fair I don't believe a word in actresses that are trying to protect their own statu quo.-
Wearing Black at the red carpet is not in favor of their cause, boycoting the Golden Globes. That yep is doing something against that fraudulent awards, whose nominations were bought by HW
