yeah, it's true. how many Hollywood characters are better written than Major Marquis Warren (Sam Jackson in The Hateful Eight) in recent years go figure, Sharbs has nothing to say arguing matters of opinion are futile and while I don't think he's written a well-rounded character since 97, he certainly has written many fascinating characters but they stem from little more than over the top caricatures. And I actually thought that was one of your joke posts to reel people in.

I'm sure he'll have a hand in the script later on. This project came outta nowhere, altho he's been an outspoken fan of Star Trek.... so I guess the idea of tackling some kinda bold version really excited him... and from the looks of it he wants a functioning script by the time he's done with '1969 Project' so he can then, I would assume, touch up the script and get going. Still scratching my head over his retirement plans...

you all are looking towards the shallow meme-y things people associate Tarantino with instead of his attention to detail, passion for the project, skills at building up tension and intrigue, and well rounded three-dimensional characters Sure he's a generally talented filmmaker but that doesn't mean his style is right for Star Trek at all. Although he is a fan of TOS. Haneke doing Star Wars and a Woody Allen Avengers movie both sound wonderful, though

Best movie news of 2017. Would love to see it and I'm sure Paramount has nothing to lose with this experiment.

Has there been any recent news on his retirement plans? I don't see it. Dude has way to many ideas going on to just hang it up.

Would love for Tarantino to tackle the sci fi genre. And if there's any movie franchise that could use an adrenaline shot right now...its definitely Star Trek. I thought Beyond was underwhelming and borderline bad. They just can't end on that note so I hope Paramount does whatever it can to get Tarantino to direct a Star Trek film.

I mean, come on... a fucking motorcycle action scene?! Hell, they weren't even in god damned space for too long.

I'm not a Trek fan. If he only has one movie left (highly doubt it), I prefer it'd be something else.

And then there was the use of the Beastie Boy's "Sabotage" in space. WTF. God damn that was terrible haha. And Elba was surprisingly awful as the villain and looked ridiculous too.

I haven't seen them, but the impression that I'm getting is that nobody likes Discovery or Picard (but then, Kurtzmann is writing and that man is as much of a hack as Abrams). And then there's The Lower Decks.
Does anybody want a gangster inspired Star Trek? At this point, I think people just want optimistic, utopian Trek back.

From the original episode "A Piece of the Action" which is pretty great and obviously room for a DePac cameo ......

I would just love for Tarantino to tackle sci fi (whether it be a Star Trek film or some other idea). I think he'd do a great job.
Regarding those plot details, there is a lot of potential there for a hard R Star Trek film (since it would have 1930s gangsters in it). In one scene you could have a couple gangsters shooting their tommy guns at Kirk & Spock and they blast those gangsters away with their phasers.

www.worldofreel.com/blog/2022/12/0uv2sf1q6h9050qns9ckxpc96pdusnBack in November, It had been reported that Quentin Tarantino was working on an 8-episode limited series. It was all revealed on Tom Segura’s podcast. Plot details are as-of-yet unknown. However, a peculiar development that we should pay our attention to. In his latest podcast, Segura abstractly mentions that there will soon be a Star Trek miniseries that will blow people away and has a big name director behind it.Other sites speculating the same.... that w/e he's filming this year might not be Bounty Law..... but an expansion of his Trek idea, which seems plausible to me........ Also as quoted yesterday, from one Nicolas Cage.... I'm just saying, you couldn't picture him doing QT's pastiche gangster concept? : “I’m a Trekkie, man. I’m on the Star Trek Enterprise. That’s where I roll. I’m not in the Star Wars family. I’m in the Star Trek family.”

Can we please, for the love of God, stop using World of Reel as a source?

I didn't post here in this thread - but just to come to the defense (again, sigh) of WoR - we are too hard on them imo. I post things from WoR fairly often - as long as you take it with a grain of salt or a salt truck - especially here: it was referencing a podcast that is named in the post ( "all revealed on Tom Segura’s podcast)"" that is totally fine to use World of Reel as a source in such a case - where you can go to Segura's podcast and not even give WoR a hit......if people don't like that site - it's fine........ I mean it might be a rumor but WoR is not even the source of the rumor itself
We do post rumors all the time - I just posted a rumor in the last 2 days - where I was the source about The Replacements
