1. Wu Tang Clan- Enter the Wu (36 Chambers) 2. Raekwon- Only Built for the Cuban Linx 3. Nas- Illmatic 4. Mobb Deep- the Infamous 5. Ghostface Killah- Fishscale
HM: Outkast- Aquemini, Black Star- Mos Def and Talib Kweli Are Black Star, GZA- Liquid Swords, Ghostface Killah- Supreme Clientele, The Fugees- The Score, Capone N Noreaga- The War Report, A Tribe Called Quest- The Low End Theory.
This year gave us many great hip hop albums that might join a lengthier list of hip hop albums in the future with Rapsody's Laila's Wisdom (the best female rap album I've ever heard), Kendrick Lamar's Damn, Cyhi da Prynce's No Dope on Sundays, Jay Z's 4:44, Wu Tang's newest project, and Big K.R.I.T.'s 4eva is a Mighty Long Time. I argue that this year was the best year for hip hop since the 90s.

It Ain't Hard To Tell is probably my fave on Illmatic because I sometimes play it as a stand alone song and it sums up the whole vibe of that great work of Art album, but I love the whole record - just half man half amazing on the whole thing Blueprint for me for Jay, Reasonable Doubt is great too but some of the stuff near the end before the awesome Regrets I think is filler honestly but its high points early on and Regrets are all real high indeed.

1. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (kind of a boring #1 choice I know, but it's just too good) 2. Madvillainy 3. We Can't Be Stopped 4. 6 Feet Deep 5. Undun
I'm not a huge fan of rap, but I love all these.

I'm not really a fan of hip-hop, but there are several albums from the genre that I enjoy quite a bit. My five favorite would probably be:
1. CunninLynguists - "A Piece Of Strange" 2. Gravediggaz - "6 Feet Deep" 3. Cypress Hill - "Cypress Hill III: Temples Of Boom" 4. Deltron 3030 - "Deltron 3030" 5. Necro - "Gory Days"

I love it. I haven't listened to any of his albums since The Black Album. He may not have taken his retirement seriously, but I did.

I don't do hip-hop. Nothing about the genre really makes sense to me. All the same, there is one album I truly enjoy:
