Mitch really did say it best. Marvel is the kid in the sandbox carefully constructing a giant castle, while the other kids try to do the same, but have no idea how to do it as well. Between the DCEU’s underperformance, the Dark Universe’ scrapping, and whatever the hell Dark Tower tried to start, I’m pretty sure this copycat trend is officially dead.

If JL has BvS-level legs the film will be a massive failure. I mean, if a Justice League film makes less money than a franchise killer like The Amazing Spider-Man 2 unadjusted in US, there's definitely something wrong.

DC needs to get its act together, obviously. Murder had a harder drop then I expected for weekend two. Ho hum. DC will be fine, it's WB and their scattered plans that I worry about. Almost all the movie suffered drops this weekend, which is why Wonder's box office is the real box office story. Wow, that film blew past everyone's expectations. I guess being a popular book helps.

WB screwed things-up. I don't think will be another Justice League team-up film anytime soon. Well it was bound to happen soon. Definitely not like this though. Few saw these box office numbers coming. Ha!

Gee, when a movie grossing 100 mil in its opening weekend is a "flop" or a "disappointment" I think that means budgets have gotten too big.

Gee, when a movie grossing 100 mil in its opening weekend is a "flop" or a "disappointment" I think that means budgets have gotten too big. We've come from a long way from when Iron Man 2's $128m opening weekend was considered a disappointment.

Maybe, just maybe, studios will start to think "hmm, maybe we need a good story and some actual sets that aren't 99% green screen to go along with these characters"?
No.
Tis but a pipe dream.

Officials are in. It dropped to 93m. What are projections of its second weekend drop look like? I don't know what the pros are saying, but I'd guess 65-70%.

Officials are in. It dropped to 93m. What are projections of its second weekend drop look like? It's Thanksgiving so it's likely going to have a soft drop at least. The third weekend will be much harsher in response though.

Officials are in. It dropped to 93m. What are projections of its second weekend drop look like? I'll say it'll collect $45 million next weekend solely for the fact that it's Thanksgiving weekend. Won't be surprised if it drops 70%+ in the third weekend.

56% drop isn't very bad.

The budget was $300 million. JFC that is outrageous . Granted, I haven't seen this film yet and don't plan on seeing it in theaters at all but I know some of my buddies that saw it and said the cgi looked so cheap .

I still cannot believe how many mistakes they made with this movie. It's like they sent it out to die

They needed to trim some fat honestly. They needed to rewrite the script heavily too.
