Pretty packed month! What are you predictions and early outlook for March
MARCH 3:
Logan:
OW- $65m
DOM- $175m
WW- $600m
Wolverine is one of the most popular comic characters even if his films have suffered from diminishing returns but it's currently tracking for $60m OW and the reviews are so far good; should at least do Apocalypse numbers
MARCH 10:
Kong: Skull Island
OW- $35m
DOM- $120m
WW- $400m
The movie seems to be lacking the buzz Godzilla had
MARCH 17:
Beauty and the Beast
OW- $140m
DOM- $420m
WW- $1,1b
This will be huge, the question is how huge
MARCH 24:
CHiPS
OW- $12m
DOM- $35m
The older demographic that remembers the show will be alienated by the raunchy humor, and neither Dax Sheppard and Michael Pena are big enough stars to compensate for what surely will be poor reviews
Life
OW- $15m
DOM- $45m
WW- $150m
Reynolds and Gyllenhaal are recognizable faces, but the movie lacks a strong concept to compete in a crowded marketplace
Power Rangers
OW- $30m
DOM- $95m
WW- $320m
This depends on how well the nostalgia hits if it can duplicate the success of the first Ninja Turtles ($65m OW, $191m DOM, $493m WW)
MARCH 31:
Ghost in the Shell
OW- $40m
DOM- $105m
WW- $405m
Scarlett Johansson is a star that has proved herself before with Lucy ($126m, $463m WW) but that had an easy to sell concept while Ghost in the Shell is pre-existing franchise that would do better overseas
Boss Baby:
OW- $25m
DOM- $85m
First major animated film since Lego Batman and could absolutely breakout
The Zookeeper's Wife
OW- $3,5m
DOM- $10m
WW2 and Nazis will always capture interest but reviews will likely be too weak for adult counter programming
