Next episode next Thursday. Whew. I thought maybe my on-demand service was just giving me a giant middle finger. Nope. We always gotta go through a dry spell and then January picks up with 4 more episodes. Ugh. I can't wait to see what the good place looks like especially when no new people have been admitted for 500 years.

Yeah, while this season has been all over the place (literally, too), I feel like on a rewatch where people can just power through the episodes one after another it'll be better. Plus, if Doug Fourcett can't make it in... then who can?

It appears nobody can. LMAO. I think it will be interesting though cause once they figure everything out Eleanor still probably won't make it to the place. What I like about the pace of the show is that they are not messing around and staying on a storyline too long. They just keep moving. I have no clue how the season will end but they always give us a clue during the season, we just have to peace it together.

Season 4 will be the last. Yeah, to be honest I don't see how they can continue much longer without it becoming far too redundant.

Season 4 will be the last. I love the show, but I'm glad to hear this. They're already tying themselves in knots since late Season 2, just to keep the thin plot alive. It'll be nice if the give us a great last season, an go out on a real high.

"You stopped me from torturing William Shakespeare! I was describing the plot to the Entourage movie..." The thing is, I haven't even seen the movie and I still got that the joke was a goodun. That's good writing.

Anyone have any predictions on how it will end? I honestly have no idea. This one is a long shot, but maybe (spoiler tagging, but again I dunno if it's even feasible): Michael is actually "God" and the whole thing was a ploy... but at the same time, I could see them making Jason "God". I mean Janet is in love with him, he plays it stupid yet a lot of his ideas actually end up working, and while a bit of a criminal he never seemed to actually want to harm/hurt anyone. Actually now that I wrote this out, Jason is definitely their higher being.

Chidi gets his memories back and they all wind up in medium place as Cincinnati. Eleanor becomes architect for new medium place

Long shot, and it's a super original thought, but just go with it. Eleanor wakes up one morning, she hears water running, she goes to the bathroom and Patrick Duffy is in the shower. "Morning!"

I struggled to get through season one. Does it get better, or if it didn't click for me should I quit while I'm ahead?

Just finished season 3 ... the season was a biiiig mess especially in the first half but still so much fun, despite being (only marginally) weaker than the first two seasons. Kinda bold for a network sitcom to be as serialized as this season was ... literally no narrative stability in sight, I'm honestly kind of in awe that they had the budget to have different sets for every episode and whatnot, can't think of another network sitcom I've seen where that's been the case. Anyway it got kind of exhausting how every episode had to end with some twist to turn the story towards a different direction; at least season 4 seems to be returning to that one stable setting which should help it return to form for its final season. Again, not saying this season was at all bad because I still constantly got a kick out of it. D'Arcy Carden had an actor's field day with the "Janet(s)" episode and I'm kinda shocked she's not getting more recognition for it. Some other acting highlights of the season were guest appearances from Maya Rudolph, Adam Scott, and Michael McKean (in addition to always excellent main ensemble obviously), all of whom are just hilarious. Finale was greeeeeat and that ending was a gutpunch in the best way ... really looking forward to where they take the last season.

So I'm blasting through this again in anticipation of the new Season. I'm about halfway through Season 3, and that will make it three full watches of the show. It is still so frickin' funny this time around. I effing love this show!!!!
I'm noticing so many gags that seem fresh to me too. A particular favourite being this gem from Tahani:
“I made a complete fool of myself tonight. I interrupted your big speech and badly stained my cargo pants, which, I have to admit, are quite comfortable. Oh, God, what’s happened to me? I’m praising off-the-rack separates!”
