So weird to see a poster where the actors' names actually align with their faces.

Had no clue what this movie was about, but I have to say that I really dug the hell out of that trailer.
The cast looks like they’ll be aces, especially Pattinson.

Pattinson looks terrific provided he doesn't go overboard (which he does quite often). Holland looks serviceable, Clarke looks as smarmy as ever, didn't really get a sense for Keough's perf or character. Don't know anything about the story and the trailer looks cool but what has me hooked is Campos. Christine wasn't perfect but Campos' directing was extremely cerebral and sharp and among the best things about that film. You could feel his presence in every moody frame. He's at home in psych thriller territory and brilliant at conveying mental deterioration.
Can't wait!

We kinda already knew this from the casting, but I just wanna say that I think it's super cool that they seem to be sticking incredibly loyal to the source material. As a multi-generational story with several plotlines, most adaptations would probably parse down the material like crazy. From what it looks like here, though, it seems that every part of the book made it into the final cut of the movie. It could be messy, but I'm excited to see how they tackle it nonetheless.
Also, I'm hoping that the star-power attached to it translates to some good success when it comes out. The trailer is #1 on trending currently and already has 2.3 million (!) views on Youtube -- by comparison the I'm Thinking of Ending Things trailer has over a million fewer and that's a week old now -- that's super rare for this type of film. I'd love to see a super dark, original story (and one that's hopefully good, too) score some major streaming success.

So my first impressions from the trailer are that I really, really wish it looked grungier. This is a scuzzy, sweaty, grimy story and the look really should reflect it, but at first blush this looks a bit too polished.
But really, that's the only major critique I have. The accent work looks surprisingly solid (although I think they were aiming for more Alabama than southern Ohio; they filmed about an hour away from my boyhood home so it makes some sense, but the accents of both regions are slightly different). I wonder if Campos is going to pull a Stand By Me and transplant the story from one state to the other to more effectively capture the region.
As for the content, I'm really glad to see some sequences (especially Miller James, and the spiders!) make it into the final product, but I'm curious what might've been cut (no sign of Theodore in this trailer, right?). At first glance, Clarke and Keough stood out the most for me, and obviously they really are emphasizing Pattinson's character, but from the trailer alone, it appears to be a fairly faithful adaptation. This is not a story for the faint of heart, gang.

Not a character that is listed on imdb as well, but something called Pokey LaFarge doesn't have a character attached to him and I believe was part of the main cast-list when Netflix announced the release date, so I'm hopeful they didn't cut Theodore. I haven't watched the trailer as I'm in the midst of Part III currently.

There's one shot of LaFarge in the trailer, and while he doesn't match Theodore from the books on a physical level, I could definitely see that. So maybe it is him.

For those that have read the book, how meaty is Pattinsons role?

For those that have read the book, how meaty is Pattinsons role? He only figures into the last section. It's a small part, but an important one.

Looks really good, particularly Pattinson, and I’m very excited to see how Tom Holland does with this material.

I expected some MVP raves for Keough and Clarke given their roles. Pattinson seems to be that. Still, looking forward.
