Because this has become public. She was fine when it wasn't public as long as her designs were getting shine time.

I'm in the camp of "everyone is full of shit" right about now. I'm not saying everyone is a villain, but I do think that almost everyone is being somewhat disingenuous to some degree and trying to strike now that the iron is hot. There's a lot of phoniness going around. And will Matt and Ben shut the fuck up with their "I have daughters now" rap. Still trying to paint themselves as noble family men amidst all of this. Who cares? Whether you have daughters or not, you should be disgusted by all this. And I don't buy for a second that they didn't know. They were close to Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt and I'm sure many others in their circle who had encounters with Weinstein. They knew. They just want to pretend they didn't because they don't want to look like spineless, selfish cowards to the entire world. Just admit you knew this was going on, but you were afraid of doing something about it because at the time you were worried about your careers first. They always want to look like Superman to the entire world.

exactly! !! Rose is not lying and it appears she is gonna call all of them out on it. Thete was an actress who looks similar to Rose that I bet crossed paths with Harvey. Can't remember her name though. You mean the OTHER elephant in the room: The women who went along with it and used their sexuality to advance their careers. The culture of Harveys will never change until that is also addressed. The women who slept with Harvey to advance their careers didn't do other women any favors. They may feel that they've empowered themselves but they also need to think about the signals that is sending out to men like Harvey. they need to be put on blast too.

I'd almost have more respect for someone coming out and saying "I was aware of the vast rumors and overwhelming evidence there was likely of a casting couch situation but stood by quietly because I did not want to jeopardize my own career... (insert actual apology here)".

Considering the number of powerful female celebrities who have come out against him, I'd say his career is as good as dead. BTW those stories are disgusting. That Asia Argento one is legit disgusting. that's just harvey. What about the others who currently have the power? They will continue to get away with it as long as they hold on to it. Harvey's error was losing it. Had he retained it, we would not be having this conversation. Unless more people speak-up, nothing will change. That's just how the film business has always worked, sadly. Also Harvey's wife is leaving him because of the scandals. Oh the irony!

Alright, I don't want to get too personal with this (I like remaining private, I don't even use Facebook), but... I've been a victim of abuse too. Not sexual, but financial and emotional abuse (and honestly, nothing near this level). Asia Argento's account of events... it was like looking in a goddamn mirror. You let it happen, and then you just let it keep happening, and you begin to feel that you deserve it, that other people have it worse, and it goes on and on and on, and you turn back into the scared kid that let it happen whenever you even think about it. That's why this needs to stop. It's not the story of one man's evil behavior, or the power he wields to screw over anyone in his way, or about who did and who didn't know about this. It's a story of how every woman he's assaulted loses a part of themselves the moment their relationship with him turns into fear of him. Fear is a destroyer of souls.

It's simply disgusting and misogynist how many of you are speculating "or di so and so sleep with Harvey to win an oscar? Why didn't she and she refused to work with him when they surely knew? What about her?". Why - even when a man's crimes are exposed - people have to turn tables and blame/humiliate women? Why are we painting Paltrow, Lawrence, Vikander and etc as vicious power-hungry bitches when we don't know if they were victims of casting couch? And even if they were they should NOT be blamed, they were not the wrong-doers. PISA MENOS, EU TE IMPLORO Feminismo de telão? Aqui não

Thank you for sharing your personal thoughts and insight on this. Everything that you said is exactly why stuff like this becoming public is so important, it's a way to in some way allow people who have encountered abuse come to terms with their own experiences and the fear that they've had to live with. And for those of us who have not experienced that to be able to see and empathize with those who have and internalize that so that we can try as best we can to make sure people like him are not tolerated.

Interesting how they're all saying they heard rumours about him, yet they were all still lining up to work with him. I guess winning Oscars must be that much important to them.
One thing, I hope this isn't the end of the matter, because Weinstein sure isn't the only one. I want Corey Feldman to speak out regarding the paedophilia amongst young actors in Hollywood.

I wonder if Quentin Tarantino is going to speak up. Pulp Fiction and the Kill Bill films were, after all, distributed by Miramax.

Thanks . What a fucking swine ! Yo everyone, you really ought to take the time to read the New Yorker piece. It is a vital piece of journalism. The audio clip is included in that article, shared for the first time by that reporter That article was hard to get through. It really is horrifying what he was getting away with, and for so long let away with.

So why is everyone afraid of speaking out against Polanski? The amount of support that that child molester is still getting is incredibly baffling and upsetting to me. Watch one of his movies & you SHOULD understand. Separating art from artist's sins is a simple & basic concept for an evolved mind, even if it makes SJW see red!

I don't like Ben on a personal level, but your making assumptions that he knew based on NOTHING & pretty much slandering his name. Any evidence? And Damon comes across like a GREAT guy in real life & does amazing charity work & activism. Much more decent & likable human being than Rose McGowan, that's for sure! I'm soooo sick & fucking tired of every artist who ever worked with Harvey being presumed to have knowledge of these things. PURE BULLSHIT! I always heard TONS of horror stories about Harvey, NONE were of a sex predator nature. Well kept secret. I buy it.

You think this never was a conversation within Hollywood circles? Not only that, Rose McGowan made it very clear that Ben Affleck knew "goddammit I told him to stop doing that!" suggests he knew this was a problem. So I'm not basing this on "nothing." I'm basing my views on common fucking sense. I THINK THEY KNEW. And if you have a problem with that because you have a hard-on for Matt Damon, too fucking bad. Get off his dick. ANYWAY, I came in here to post what Ewan McGregor tweeted: "Weinstein. It's about time this came to light and he is getting is just deserts. Heard rumours over the years but this is awful. Bye Bully!" But of course, I'm being unreasonable to believe Matt and Ben, Weinstein's two golden boys, heard rumors too.

I'm going to go on a slightly unrelated note, but not really. When Casey won last year, which I'm not entirely upset about because his perfomance was deserving imo (separate the art from the artist bullshit), and Damon and Ben were championing him around Hollywood. It felt to me at least like a couple of college frat kids who were covering for their buddy in the dean's office and leaving giggling and high-fiving because they got away with what Casey was accused with. Just what it felt like to me from the outside
