The absence of CASINO on those lists is truly shocking ! I love it. Almost as much as Goodfellas. Doesn't get the credit it deserves.

Goodfellas - Consummation. It's just the film with everything, delivers in every aspect.
The Wolf of Wall Street - Sure the style is nothing new from Scorsese, but the approach and stage it's set on is so fresh and exciting, it's so puzzling this isn't usually mentioned as a standout of this decade's most acclaimed films when the far inferior The Social Network or Drive usually gets all those notices. I think it's definitely an entertaining movie, but for the first time he has such a superb handle on era (both portrayed era and the current film era), lifestyle, and satire. Don't recall him ever doing those 3 things as well as he does here. Scorsese is often said to possess Nouvelle Vague (new cinema) attributes, but said aforementioned things makes this movie open to an argument of being an upgrade of Raging Bull and Goodfellas though you can also say that those two might be more definitive staples.
Casino - My type of movie, Goodfellas rip-off or not. I'm a 90s boy, I have a connection to the attributes of that era. I think this is his most 90s film. That's because The Wolf of Wall Street can be a great movie even in the 90s, but Casino isn't likely to be a great film in the 2010s.
Raging Bull - A very thorough and engineered project. And while you could call this just a biopic, it feels like a mindblowing experience for a freshman film buff. This is definitely entry-level visceral cinema, but that's kind of what makes it good, and I remember regarding this as something I've never seen before in my newbie phase, and it's been imprinted in my brain now, I think I'll always remember that I was transformed at that point - the point after seeing this.
The Age of Innocence - Again, 90s, that's kind of.... my dish. But this is exactly how a period drama should appear. Intellectual, Scandinavian veiled, minimal and clinical. like a finely period novel adapted like how you would have read it with that psuedo-lit demeanor. Maybe I like the way it's done more than the actual film, but I still find it very enjoyable with characters written with idealistic attributes, but avoids being too rhapsodic with bad melodrama.

The top 2 will always be the top 2 for me he was at is best before he became celebrated. The bottom 3 are more for his awesome technically mastery - though honestly I prefer King of Comedy and After Hours to any of those 3 as actual movies.
