Day 30: Thriller: A Cruel Picture / Thriller - en grym film (1973, Bo Arne Vibenius)First they took her speech… then they took her sight… then she took her revenge! Christina Lindberg stars as a mute woman forced into prostitution and heroine addiction who takes vengeance on the men who wronged her in this Swedish exploitation film. Controversial for its depiction of drug use and unstimulated sex scenes, it’s a very graphic revenge story that fell victim to editing and censorship over the years. Feeling like a displaced western at times, Thriller is stylish and extreme across the board thanks to some impressive sound design. While it would later influence Tarantino’s Kill Bill films, its mutilated eye scene nearly rivals that of Un Chien Andalou.

Day 31: The American Scream (2012, Michael Stephenson)And now for something completely different: a documentary that follows three families in Massachusetts who each go to varying lengths transforming their homes into creepy haunted attractions for Halloween. Also featuring talking heads that discuss the “home haunter” phenomenon and the creativity, passion, and stress that come with the territory. The film is a follow-up from director Michael Stephenson, known for starring in Troll 2 and making a documentary about its cult status. The American Scream is an interesting and surprisingly heartfelt portrait of obsession for those that consider Halloween to be more than just a day. Happy Halloween!

Damn, haven't seen a single one. Good work anyway I may have gone a tad too obscure this year. Thanks for reading, everyone!

Wonderful job, as always. Many new introductions to movies I'm now a big fan of. Always appreciate the effort in digging up more unknown choices and providing write-ups. So happy you're gonna keep it up.

I've seen... 1. I'd say around 5 or so really catch my eye, though.
