Yeah, it wasn't great. Some interesting ideas, Moss and Kidman were fantastic, but in general a lot of it felt so contrived and unnatural. I didn't buy half of what the characters said or did.

Also just me or does it feel like some crime shows lately seem to portray men as pigs, women a bit flawed but saintly? I sort of felt that way watching Broadchurch as well. I definitely felt that with China Girl. The feminism was so aggressive and hamfisted, with every male character being in some way repulsive and unlikeable.

It was okay. I liked it a lot more after the episode with David Wenham in. I think after that the whole thing picked up big time, but until then it was really just the chemistry between Moss and Christie that kept it interesting.
