Seems like a surefire winner for Original Screenplay.
Looks good. Disappointed to see so little of Hong Chau, but I'm into it.
Still can't believe this is an Alexander Payne when it looks so thoroughly of the Jonze/Kaufman ilk.

That song choice was really uninspired to a laughable degree but still kind of works. The ensemble is impressive. I do think it's a great premise and looks very watchable and original, if not something fantastic.

And if Payne can get nominated for The Descendants and Nebraska (which had pretty meh writing), then I could easily see him getting lauded for Downsizing. |

Looks good. I didn't expect it to be out there, since I believe that Payne loves the mundane even with silly concepts, but this looks very good. I'm seeing it on Saturday as well.

The controversy seems stupid & is apparently dumb from what I've heard though. I doubt it'll affect the films chance, even if it gets no nomination. |
