Now that's a bold statement.
Maybe there's some hope for the DCEU yet.
Oh, look at me. Thinking wacky things again...

This is going to be a complete reboot or a "sequel" that ignores the original flick? Anyways, hope then they can bring Robbie back.

Well played, DC. I think people predicted this would happen.

I’d be happy with Gunn taking over but I still want WB and DC to get their shit together with their slate before announcing more stuff that may never happen.

Idris Elba doesn't really say no to anything. People thought he was gonna be quite the selective leading man like Denzel (whom he was incorrectly touted as a successor), but he's pretty much chosen to go the Samuel L.Jackson route. Or the Michael Caine route, if you compare Elba to a fellow Brit.
It seems to be working fine for him. He's likeable and charismatic and doesn't take himself too seriously, so I can see him lasting the course without being too picky like Jackson. People just expected more from him because he looks more like a traditional leading man, which Jackson never did (so his career path made sense for him).
Also, it's very clear Elba does not want the responsibility of carrying too many movies, which is why he does so many ensemble and supporting roles. He knows that if he's defined as the "leading man" in too many projects that flop, the ride may end

First movie was awful. But if Del Toro is in, I'm in.

The additions of Waititi & Del Toro really mean nothing to me. I am a bit upset that DCEU went & got a director from MCU. Any reason as to why O'Connor left??? Either way, I hope it is a good sequel.

Didn't they do the same thing with Joss Whedon in Justice League??? That is true. However, did Joss only come in during post-production of Justice League? I think Snyder stepped down due to family reasons. There were lots of rewrites & re-shots being made. That along with the poor reviews of DOJ, I knew nothing good would come out of it.

Yes, that's what happened. Snyder stepped down and Whedon re-shot about half of the movie with many script re-writes.
