The OB/MA Group 100 Performances – 2017 EditionA total of 30 Buzzers sent me lists of what they believe to be the 100 greatest performances of all time, and I have compiled them all into one. I will now be presenting the fourth and final list: The Top 25 Leading Actress Performances. A total of 304 performances received votes in this category, but only 25 made it onto the list. How high did your favorites place? Or did they place at all? You’re about to find out! If you want to have a quick look at the 2014 edition of this list, click here.

BOTTOM OF THE BARREL
First, just for fun, let’s have a look at all of the performances in this category that received only one point:
Mary Badham (To Kill a Mockingbird)
Viola Davis (Fences)
Katie Jarvis (Fish Tank)
Heather Matarazzo (Welcome to the Dollhouse)
Saoirse Ronan (Byzantium)
Tilda Swinton (Julia)
Ingrid Thulin (Winter Light)

Hmmm, I see GOAT Watts only came in at #9 last time. Fingers crossed for a jump. Though a Gloria Swanson repeat would be more than welcome.

Ronan, Davis, and Badham are head-scratching as to why they're even there, but nothing too awesome seemed to miss so let's get it on.

Could this mean that Ullman is higher than Andersson? Nothing against Bibi, who is extraordinary, but I've always preferred Liv, and I feel like I'm in the minority on that one.

This is the most inspired I think we've ever been. Maybe because the male performances are often too praised while the female ones seem to sit in the background? Either way, this is some welcomed diversity in performances even if I've not seen a single one yet.

Winslet used to be my #1, but I've since chilled a bit on her and the film (which is still technically my #1 film, but I feel like Beginners might take over that spot soon). Either way, she's my #5 and a worthy entry here.

Nice placement for Winslet. I've never found her to be all-time great, but she deserves a spot on the top 25.

A non-All About Eve placement for Davis, that's crazy.
Also I've still only seen one of these performances so far, but that's okay. At least the usual suspects haven't placed yet (though I know the top ten will be full of them).

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't put her at #1, but this is the most excited I've been throughout this whole thing. I signed in just to show my support for the queen. Nobody does evil better than Bette Davis.

Well, it was a good list while it lasted. Don't get the love for this performance. It's okay, but I far prefer her in Young Adult where she makes my top ten all-time.
At least she got knocked down 7 spots. Just 7 more to go!
