My anticipation just sunk drastically.

Quite the opposite. I liked Waltz's Blofeld and it really looked like that he'd return.
After the bad reviews of Spectre, it seemed they'd change their plans (different Bond, different story, a reboot maybe) but that never happened. Everybody's here. Same Bond, same actors and characters and the same villain!!!
I waited for years for Blofeld and spectre to be back in Bond films and Spectre was a disappointment. I'm glad they're giving it another chance.

But then again I also thought Spectre was pretty good. I had very high hopes about this movie as we hadn't seen anything about Blofeld and his organisation for years. And with the previous Bond film being the very good imo Skyfall, I was convinced we were about to watch a 007 masterpiece. Of course the final result disappointed me.

To be honest the only thing I thought was that good about Skyfall was Bardem and the rest was just alright. I slightly preferred Spectre.

Just Googled it: It had been 34 years since we last saw Blofeld in a movie. Way too long for Bond's archenemy.

Except from the last 30-40 minutes which reminded me of the Home Alone movies (...), I liked almost everything else about Skyfall. Bond's maturity (actually, Craig's maturity in playing Bond), the story, Dench (as always), the smaller roles (Manypenny, Q, M) and of course Bardem. The best thing in a very good 007 film. TBH, I also loved Casino Royal and these 2 movies were the best Bond movies in decades imo.

Agree that Casino Royale is right up there with the best of the franchise. I would say From Russia With Love, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Living Daylights, and Casino Royale are the gold standard for the franchise.

LDL was very good but yes, decades ago. I kind of liked Goldeneye also.
The golden standards for me also include Dr. No snd For Your Eyes Only.

It's being reported that Lashana Lynch's character will inherit the 007 moniker.
It looks like the film will open with Bond in retirement and Lynch as the current 007.

She’ll be 007 in the opening scene. Bond will continue on being a white guy. Don’t panic yet.

From the sound of things, Bond will have been retired for five years and she will be the new agent 007. Bond will of course be pulled out of retirement and into whatever the movie's adventure is. That's what I would guess.
Barbara Broccoli came out and said a few months ago when asked that Bond would always be a male character and that she didn't feel the need for "stunt casting" in her words.

I'm intrigued about how they will handle a new 007, but I absolutely despise the idea that Blofeld is coming back. That was the worst part of Spectre, followed by Miss Swan and her non-existent chemistry and screen presence. I would have rather they contd with Quantum with a new villain and no surrogate Tracy.
Overall, I'm not looking forward to this.

I doubt the film will be as entertaining as the BTS.

Hyped. As always for a 007 film.

With that title, we had better get Liam Neeson as the villain just so he can say there's no time...

Eh... I sort of appreciate that they went for an older style Bond title (sounds like something from the Brosnan era), but it's kind of generic. Honestly would have preferred Shatterhand as a title.
Fun fact though: it's actually the title of a Cubby Broccoli-produced, Terence Young-directed film from the late 50s (also cowritten by screenwriter Richard Maibaum who adapted the Bond stories for almost every film from Dr. No to Licence to Kill).
