watching The Crown again. Liked S2 a lot and am now four eps into the Colman cycle, which I'm enjoying considerably less. Hard to reconcile Foy's stiff but sympathetic interpretation with Colman's ice queen. This new iteration is such a drag. Haven't detected a single likable quality yet. This is closer to what I imagine the queen is like.
Bonham Carter is pretty fun, Menzies is just as annoying as Matt Smith but not as good, Aberfan is the early-season highlight obviously but not as good as I thought it'd be precisely because so much of its drama hinges on Elizabeth's cold-bloodedness. The conversation at the end with PM Harry Wilson smacked of melodrama, although I do love that actor and that character. Best post-Churchill PM character so far.
last ep I watched was Bubbikins. Worst ep of the season so far. Highlight was the introduction of Erin Doherty as Princess Anne and it had some nice moments but the drama was alllll over the place. Phillip's mommy issues and financial egomania take center stage, both neatly resolved by the end.

Finished "Normal People"... well acted, but at the same time it is incredibly repetitive. It was the same episode over and over but the acting saves it. Definitely needed to be 60 minute episodes rather than 30 minute ones.
Is everybody in Paris that gorgeous?! 5 episodes in of Emily in Paris and by each episode I'm more tempted to travel there all by myself. Haha. It's good, dumb fun - just exactly what I need after work. Lily Collins is so beautiful and is perfect as Emily. Not much of a story as such but it's entertaining so far.
