Silicon Valley 4x03: This season is somehow getting even better and better every episode. Whichever member of the writing staff came up with the "Seefood" storyline is a goddamn genius. I also love how this season continues to be ambitious by firing Gavin from Hooli -- only to bring him right back into the story in the most intriguing way possible. Big Head teaching at Standford and Dinesh's new girlfriend are both hilarious elements as well and should make for great subplot story arcs. My one concern is that I hope they don't drop PiperChat from the story altogether; hopefully we continue to follow Hooli with Action Jack and Hoover at the forefront.
Veep 6x04: Huuuuge step-up for this season. While I feel I should complain about Amy's abrupt re-entrance into the main storyline, it does help to reel the show back in to a point where it seems they can manage the elements they have to work with. The unfolding of the "Selina being rumored as the new Justice" storyline was hilarious and was perfectly supplemented by she and Gary's simultaneous medical mishaps. Jonah and the Daylight Saving Time bit was amazing. Bonus points for making Dan's skin darker in each scene.

The Americans 5x10: Excellent episode. The wedding ceremony sequence was beautifully shot and acted, and is probably the most heartfelt the show has ever gotten. And that was brilliantly contrasted with the last scene of the episode, the haunting darkroom moment where they discover what Pastor Tim has really thought about the Jennings all along ... I have a feeling he won't just be getting relocated to Europe, and this in fact may lead this several season story-arch spiraling towards a conclusion in the coming weeks. I also liked some of the little moments here, like Philip's "I don't want Stan to end up like Martha" line.
While this episode still didn't feature any big developments for the season's main plot threads, it did contribute to clearing up some things, albeit in a slightly underwhelming way -- they're seriously just going to have some high schoolers bully Pascha back to Russia? Anyway, I definitely think some of this season will spill into the next and final (especially with that extension added on to the Topeka storyline), but hopefully that doesn't stop the last three episodes from being satisfying.

That wedding scene was indeed beautiful, and totally came out of nowhere. I also loved Philip's Martha line. I'm starting to wonder when the shit will hit the fan with Stan. Ending this season with him finding about the Jennings' true identities is probably the perfect setup for the final season, but kind of seems kind of predictable too (which the writers will most likely avoid). Outside of that... a lot of stuff needs to happen in the final three episodes, and I hope it actually does.

The Americans 5x10.
Loved this episode, which was easily the best in a while. The marriage ceremony was beautifully done in every way, but the highlight of the episode for me was the final darkroom sequence, which was just riveting and hopefully set up a thrilling last three episodes. This episode was just great all around, from the silent Oleg family dinner scene to Philip's running while an EST speech runs in the background. This was also the first episode since the middle of S5 that fully managed to balance character with plot, as a lot of the interactions also focused on moving the story forward.
I don't really care about Stan's mission with that woman just yet, but other than that this was a near-perfect episode which this season kinda needed. 9.5/10

Outside of that... a lot of stuff needs to happen in the final three episodes, and I hope it actually does. Stan finding out definitely seems inevitable. I've seen a couple of theories about how that may play out this season, namely that: a) Philip will discover that Renee is KGB and is on a mission that poses a danger to Stan, and Philip will come clean in order to protect him, or b) Stan's mission with the Rezidentura source has been kept a secret from from us, because it will ultimately connect to discovering Philip's and Elizabeth's identities. I think the former possibility is much more interesting than the latter, though either would be plausible.
It definitely seems too predictable that he would find out at the end of this season -- as that's exactly what Breaking Bad did for its final season -- so I'd love it if they found an even more creative way to set-up the final season that would have an equal impact.

Fuck it, have Stan find out next week and really put this thing into high gear! And I was thinking the Henry stuff was goofy, but it looks like it's going to lead him into being an FBI agent or something so now I'm totally fine with it.

Yeah, that bit with Henry in the coming attractions looks really interesting. His allegiance to Stan has been built-up since at least the third season, so I can't wait to see how that all pays off.

I totally forgot who the hell she is and what Stan and his partner want with her. We don't really know what their endgame with her is yet, which is why there has been a great deal of speculation as to why that's being intentionally hidden from the audience. I think the only thing we know about her at this point is that she's associated with the Rezidentura.

They've been dragging that on so long without much of interest happening with it (except for her getting her teeth fixed, yippee!), so the payoff better be big.

Fargo 3x04.
Easily my favourite of the season so far. This felt the most like classic Fargo, and I'm really hoping that from here on we get a brilliant season that just needed a while to get going. David Thewlis is just hilarious, and nails every single line of dialogue he has. With last week and now this, Coon no longer feels like a weird, wasted after thought, and I really like that new police woman - both character and actress. The ending was perfect. 9.5/10

Why is there so much great TV on just when I have a fuckton of exams coming up?
Just caught up on Better Call Saul. Damn, this season has been amazing, with the latest being absolutely perfect TV and possibly my favourite episode of the year so far from any show. Michael McKean needs an emmy (along with Odenkirk and Seehorn).

I really hope Supporting Actor comes down to McKean and Esposito, their respective performances in the last two episodes were mesmerizing.

Silicon Valley 4x04: Another hilarious episode this week. I'm happy to see that they're going through with the idea of Richard and Gavin working together, which should open up some entertaining doors for the rest of the season -- or series, for that matter. The further unraveling of the Seefood plot (and its connection with Big Head's Stanford gig) was great comedy and gave Erlich one of his best episodes ever. I do wish the show was continuing to follow Action Jack and the PiperChat acquisition, but perhaps they'll circle back to it down the line.
Veep 6x05: JLD was especially fantastic in this episode. The scene where Selina and Mike destroyed the barn was hilarious.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, S1E1, The Gang Get Racist
I just watched the latest Season on Netflix on Saturday, so I thought I'd go back and watch the very first one and relive the moment I fell in love with my favourite American sitcom.

I started Survivor New Zealand because why not? How is it? Also, how are you watching it? Eh, it's okay. Not a lot of big personalities and I'm no fan of Redemption Island, but it's not bad for a first season. Stephen has been sending me episodes, I'm not sure where he gets them.
