I like the cast and it sounds like it's worth checking out if only for the visuals. I still need to get on this.

It's the truest to his feature-length perfume commercial aesthetic... but it's not as aesthetically pleasing as To the Wonder.

I wasn't a fan of To The Wonder. Found it unbelievably dull, especially for Malick, and his usual style was so over the top and ridiculous that it just didn't fit the movie at all and killed any emotional attachment I normally would've had to the story/characters/themes. It's not without it's good moments but as a whole it's his worst by a long shot.
For that reason I've kind of avoided Knight of Cups (which looks even more ridiculous, somehow). I'm torn on Song to Song, because on first glance I do like the cast and the trailer made it come off to me as decently interesting, but eh...I don't know. I'll probably see it.
I know a lot of people are big fans of Malick's newer style, but outside of The Tree of Life, so far it doesn't really work for me.
